Test footage shot to test capabilities of iPhone 7 and Moondog Labs' Anamorphic lens adapter under challenging lighting and contrast conditions. A simple "film look" LUT from motionVFX was applied.
Shot in HD at 120fps using FilmicPro set to "FilmicExtreme" quality.
The following gear was used:
iPhone 7 128GB
Beastgrip Pro Rig amzn.to/2wsgAyJ

Moondog Labs 1.33X Anamorphic Lens Adapter

Nice video man! .. does the filmic pro app automatically make your footage slow motion or do you do it in post like on a software ?

Like any camera, you set the frame rate to record at 30fps, 60fps, 120fps, 240fps, etc. in FilmicPro and then reduce the playback speed when editing Btw, fps stands for "frames per second". The point of shooting high frame rates is to retain as much image information as possible if you intend slowing the clip down. If you were to shoot at 30fps, for example, and slow it down by 50% or more, you'd see a clip made up of blurred frames. There simply wasn't enough information for the NLE)software to use. It's the same principle in photography: take a small image and blow it up--it gets blurry; there's no information to fill in the gaps between the pixels. Most sports on TV is shot at 120fps or higher so when an slo-mo replay is needed, every frame of that replayed video is tack sharp. I hope that answers your question. Thanks, Edward. You set the frame-rate in FiLMiC Pro e.g. 120fps and shoot your subject at that speed. In post-production, the editor will slow the footage down so when played back at 29.97fps or 30fps, the movement appears in slow motion. Head over to vimeo and check out the "Fashion Films" genre. This is a good reference site for cinematographers and directors who use slow motion to good effect.
