True. I visited DFW during the weekdays without a car and it was pleasant ride. I’m glad that DFW is expanding more trains to get people and visitors move around.

Rowlett station is formerly as rowlett park and ride prior to 2012.

They should really replace the old rolling stock and get an all new one. Hitachi would work well on the D2-Red/Orange line..instead of it being a Light rail. What rolling stock do you think DART will use next?

That’s a good question and it will soon retire since the original rolling stock will be almost 30 years old. Right now, I see Hitachi, Stadler, and Siemens are popular. Or maybe CAF trains. I think DART should upgrade the Blue and Red line to a heavy rail.

@@HOUExplorer I agree completely. The Hitachi stock like what Miami uses would be a Big Plus considering its Additonal space and additonal cars. I believe DART will soon make some lines heavyrail considering the ever growing population and rising ridership numbers. Theres also Talk of A new rail line being built from Downtown to The galleria or even Plano via the Tollway. I think rheh would use heavy rail for that aswell. Also Read an article last week of Frisco/Collin county possibly pursuing a Rail System.

Wow...that would be crazy. The underground tunnel would be safe though...although I did hear that Dallas have small earthquakes (2.0 scale) few years ago.
