Noah and I hopped in the truck and took off on some forest service roads we’ve never been on before. We rode north from Dahlonega, GA on Black Mountain Road and turned left onto Grassy Gap Road. We passed Woody Gap Camp, Horseshoe Ridge, and Persimmon Gap. After a bumpy ride over rocks and a wet ride through big mud puddles, we made it to Cooper Gap Road. We took a left onto Cooper Gap Road and continued on a much smoother ride towards Cooper’s Gap. With all the leaves off the trees, there were beautiful long range mountain views to be had the whole ride. On Cooper Gap road we passed Cane Creek Gap, Locust Gap, Ward Gap, Jones Gap, Justus Gap, Ward Creek, and finally Cooper’s Gap where the Appalachian Trail crosses the road. At this intersection we took a right and headed north up FSR 15. When the gravel ends and the one lane pavement begins the road changes names to Gaddistown Road. Gaddistown road winds through a beautiful mountain river valley along the banks of the Toccoa River until it dead ends at Georgia Highway 60.

Love all of your directions. Wish everybody who makes similar videos did the same. Have been planning to head up that way to run some trails and I'll definitely start with this one first because of you

That’s awesome man! I’m glad my videos are helpful. Same as you, I’ve always been frustrated watching people post content of great looking spots but never mention where they are or how to get there. I try to be as specific as possible in all my videos on where I am and how to get there so other folks can get out there and have the same incredible experience my son and I had 💯👍

Great video I am always looking for new roads to travel and especially interested in Georgia roads right now, thank you for putting the names of roads on the video. I am definitely go to look at my maps and plan a trip down that way. I like to stay out 4 to 6 days and camp out my truck which I have converted into a mini 4wd motorhome. Thank you Caleb and Noah

Like number 22. I love driving the back roads here in Arkansas. I've found some great camping spots and some nice honey holes for fishing. Great idea with the gopro👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Also, what version of GoPro are you using? It appears to be self stabilized like there is gimbal inside...

Caleb you are doing a great job for the rest of us who like to ride motorcycles or drive around on weekend trips to explore North Georgia hills. Yes I say hills and not mountains as I lived in Colorado 🙂

Awesome video man. I just got a Raptor and been looking for a fun road. This looks like one I need to try. I assume the forest service does a good job keeping fallen trees off the roadway
@southernappalachianrecon
@southernappalachianrecon Жыл бұрын
Yes, they do, especially the main FSRs. I would suggest keeping a little chainsaw in your rig just in case. You can expect to see fallen trees directly after a storm but between the forest service and local folks the roads stay pretty clear 💯👍

Yes, absolutely, I did it in two wheel drive without a rear diff locker, only had a little trouble in one spot but I made it, would suggest some decent all terrain tires 💯🤙

Do you know if this or roads similar can be rode on with a side by side in this area?
@southernappalachianrecon
@southernappalachianrecon 2 жыл бұрын
Yes every now and then I’ll see folks riding side by sides out on national forest roads, you aren’t allowed to ride them in WMA’s but I’m pretty sure it’s okay on forest service roads in the national forest as long as you stay on the road and you ain’t tearing off into the woods
