I bought my 2022 new, I actually bought it while it was in the truck bringing it to the dealer in Denver. I live in Idaho. Those TWs are hard to come by. TW rear tire is amazing at 6-8 psi off road. It will NOT slip. Get a rear sprocket maybe two more teeth beyond stock, longer chain maybe too. The only two downsides off road is the front stock tire, and the suspension. Not much can be done about the suspension, maybe gold valves, but a Shinko 241 on the front will transform off road grip. I had my TW for two years, and like you, followed people into all kinds of crazy. But inevitably I could not ride through heavy duty tech chop terrain. Ended up with a Beta Xtrainer 300. Still fond of the TW200 though..

I really like this video. I'm looking for a dual sport that is fun on and off road and can be used to teach new riders. This fits the bill, and vertically challenged people will like it too. I'll be looking for a used one if I can ever find one for sale. I take it you don't go off road that much because you couldn't stop giggling and laughing. Most people that ride street only do that because they can't believe how much fun motorcycles are off road. Off road is less practical, and it requires approved places to ride which can be difficult, but it is soo worth it. It looked like a difficult, but fun time.
@dualdorks
@dualdorks 4 жыл бұрын
Actually I'm mostly off road when I ride haha. I try to spend less time on pavement if I can. I have owned this bike since October and I still giggle every time I ride it haha. It's just such a fun bike. I used to take different bikes, like 650s on the same trails and it wasn't as enjoyable for me . I got some other videos where I take it off road in different states and different terrain. They had t dubs when I did the basic riders course and a lot of people that never rode a bike before just had a good time and no issues after a few minutes .

Thanks Grizzlee , I traded in my xr650r for it. The XR needed a lot of work but it ran and was ridable. Got tired of kick starting if on the trails after tipping over and flooding it. I kept dumping money into it and was getting nowhere with it. The T dub is so much on trails and zipping around town. It's not fast but will maintain 60 mph easily for me. Super cheap to fill up too. No more than $4 then I can ride it over 100-120 miles on a tank

Nice ride! I'm considering powering down to to a T-dub like you did. I have a Husqvarna now but at 50, I'm thinking I may like the smooth, easy riding and fun-factor from a TW200. Plus the maintenance is so much better! I enjoy fire-roads and trail riding, not racing or tracks. Now that you've had your TW awhile, are you glad with your purchase? Do you miss the power? Power and suspension are my biggest concerns with the TW.
@dualdorks
@dualdorks 4 жыл бұрын
I miss the suspension of the XR650R but the T dub isn't to bad as long as you go slow through the rough stuff. I have a ADV bike/commuter that had the same power as the XR. I switch to that for long highway rides. I am glad I got the T dub . It's so much fun and cheap to own. I just paid $1.97 to fill the tank today lol.

I'm 54 and a big boy, 5'10", 300lbs. I got a TW last Oct as a reward for quitting smoking. (8 months not smoking =$3000+ and I found a great deal on a 2018 with only 412 miles! I really stepped in shit there!!) Anyway, it pulls me around the Jersey Pine Barrens just fine and makes me feel like a little more youthful again. ONLY complaint is that the seat feels like a cinder block after about an hour or so. Plan to either buy aftermarket or go to upholstery shop for custom cushioning.

Sure a TW can hang with enduros. I did and ...felt it . Sooner or later there will be that nasty rut, log or melon size rock and then, there you are with nearly 7 fingers still touching the handle bar and not even a toe on the pegs. All this while the enduro you were following with it's near motocross suspension just went gliding over it.Bottom line , a TW is more fun when you within the limits it was design for.
