Congratulations to the first ride! Hope you can sort out the remaining issues and let us see another ride and hearing the engine on higher revs next time. Great fun, as always, to watch your videos. 🙂

Thanks! I am really hoping to get the issues sorted so that I can put a few miles on it. I need to bear in mind that it has new rings though, so full throttle will still be a little while off :)

LOL!!! You took the words right out of my mouth! “You meet the nicest people on a Honda!” Great to see your maiden voyage!! Keep up the good work!!

It always seem to be true. But to be fair you meet quite a few on other marques too! :)

Great looking bike! I’ve been enjoying watching your videos! Waiting on new coils for mine coming in the mail today than going to work on it😁

Thanks. Good luck with your coils, hope it moves your project on a long way! :)

Have you rejetted carbs seeing as you’re running a 4 into one and not original airbox ? Have you checked plug conditions see if it’s running lean
@SPANNERRASH5 ай бұрын
I have upped the mains to 125 using a formula from a forum, but I am not at a point where I can start checking if that is right yet. The main issue is with idle and slow runnig, but another go at syncing may just sort that out. It seems to run well on part throttle so the main jet and the needle might be somewhere near. Once I get the slow running right I will then start worrying about the more open throttle running. I will need to put a few miles on the engine first.

Great to see it out on the road, I couldn’t get mine to run well on pod’s until I fitted longer intakes to them (velocity stacks from the original air box), but who knows yours might be ok, I also had to up the pilot jet size, anyway it’s rolling under it’s own steam so that’s a great start 👍

I have taken what you said on board, and I do have a set of trumpets. I would like to get something like the one piece K&N filters with four holes for them to go into. But I will see how I go on with the pods first. I have upped the mains to 125 using a formula off a forum, but I don't know if that will work out yet.

It would have been terribly tempting to cut that notch out in situ. Love your videos… very relaxing and informative. Cheers from Southern Arizona.

Yes, I was tempted, but I did want to look at the other side where the brake stay is. Take care.

Congratulations! Any day you don't have to push a project back is a good day! It did sound strong under power, which is a testament to your rebuild! I recognized the chain dragging sound right off. You'll have her humming along in no time!

Thank you! It makes a change :) No doubt there will be a few other things to look at along the way.

Absolutely amazing - a classic first ride after a project like that. You always come back with tons of things to still work on, but you keep on hanging to the positives ( mostly not many, but they are there ! ). That last mile is always the hardest. Awesome job on it - absolutely love your videos !

Thanks for the comment. I wasn't too disappointed, I did expect issues. It is funny how the things that cause the biggest headaches are not the same ones you think will be the biggest issues. But it is reassuring when at least some of the faults were on your list :) I can't wait to get them solved. Take care.

Good to see it out and about. agree with the other poster on a bit longer intake tract, although cv carbs benefit from it more than slides do with pods. get the "colourtune "out and do the idle mixture when you do the sync. you may have just enough room to do away with the rose linkage and use a rear facing std pedal? Not a fan of "race" gear pattern but may work. There must be a a neutral light in that speedo/tach clock? Look forward to the next instalment.
@SPANNERRASH5 ай бұрын
Bloody Hell Rob. Are you reading the scripts of future videos :) Air leaks, sync and idle mixture are next steps with the carbs. Maybe new plugs as well. And as for the gear change, we are both on the same page! The clocks don't have a neutral or oil warning light wired in, which seems a shame, so I may have to do some lights on a supplementary bracket, but I think when the idle and gear shifter is sorted neutral will be easy to find, and I have an oil pressure gauge so that light isn't too much of a worry. See you about ;)

is the alarm from the oven you have in your workshop? Great serious btw!!
@SPANNERRASH2 ай бұрын
Good idea about the oven, but I am sure it is a clock from the camping equipment. I can't believe the batteries haven't died by now. Hope you enjoy our Triumph stuff too!

Exciting! I'll be that every one of us who built our bike was pinned to the screen. "What's that sound there?" This whole problem-solving part of motorbikes can be stressful, but in the end it almost always pays off, and there's that rush of excitment. This is the life.
@SPANNERRASH5 ай бұрын
Thanks. Like you said stressfull, but solveable. The mixed weather we are having means that you can't get straight back out to try the next solution to issues. I have a good idea of what I need to do, and hopefully you will get to see how it works out soon. I really enjoy problem solving,and it isn't my first rodeo! :)
