I always wanted to passionately own a horse when I was younger, but at the time it was out of the question, so I used to volunteer at a local stables and was responsible for looking after one mare in particular who was as good as gold and had a great personality, I was always going in her stable to talk to her.❤ I later started owning cats (bit smaller!) Eleven years ago, my youngest daughter brought home a beautiful Russian-Blue kitten. I called him Harry and we became soul mates for twelve and a half years. Sadly my beautiful Harry died of heart-failure following surgery at the beginning of January this year. Although I am very sad that he has gone and the pain is deep because he was an exceptional animal, just like Uniek, being very fine, beautiful and intelligent. Animals come into our lives for a reason and I realise how very lucky that some of us are to have had great relationships with them, to have known them and to have had the pleasure of having them as part of our lives.❤️🐎❤🐈. Bella is gorgeous, she looks so sweet in her pink halter!❤❤❤

Uniek truly was the One a complete legend of equal parts beauty grace & power,an absolute Boss Mare who commanded respect from both her equine companions but didn’t do it in such a way that intimidated them,in the same breath she was soft,loving and gentle knowing the difference between when she had a young child on her back versus when she could be the total powerhouse with an adult yet even then she was calm & steady caring for her rider,the glue that held Stal H together. Belle has big hoof prints to fill but she will make her mem proud and no doubt have her own equally beautiful connection with Yvonne.👑🐎🌈🪽🩷🌸🥹

Watching how Reintje and Uniek move shows how special Friesian horses are. So calm and responsive, they really are a special breed. Uniek couldn't keep her eyes off Belle. She seemed to enjoy the new foal very much. I'm glad Belle was born while Uniek still had a chance to see her.

If I had never seen Uniek's loving attention to her newborn, I would not be in the position to think that she knew Belle Uniek was hers. The videos have really made me a Herdie Believer. Thank you Yvonne, for all your hard work and perseverance in filming these incredible videos during baby Belle's difficult birth transition and Uniek's tragic passing.

I feel like she knew Belle is her foal bc she was always looking over the wall at her. I also feel like Coralle knows Belle comes from Uniek too because she was a little more forgiving of her being so close to the wall. What a special and amazing union between the three horses. It will always break my heart that Uniek didn't have more time with Belle and we'll never get to see if they would've bonded out in the field. 😢

Knowing that Uniek's farewell is close by, this cheerful afternoon in the arena suddenly becomes extra special. I love how Uniek is surrounded by cheerfulness and camaraderie from the women who have cared for her for years with great dedication and love. I always try to be rational when it comes to interpret animal emotion and behaviour, trying to avoid to read human behaviour into animals. But Uniek constantly watching Belle so intently with her lovely eyes makes me want to believe Uniek knows about Belle. And Coralle being okay with Uniek basically hanging her head into the stall and stare😄is also special to me. Maybe Uniek and Coralle made a pact and talk about raising Belle during the night when everyone is asleep. Shhhhht! 😅😅😆😍

When Belle was born she was so tall she couldn't walk under Coralle, but if I remember correctly Rising Star couldn't walk. under Uniek on his first day with her.

Awe, gorgeous majestic Queen Uniek was such a special lady from the moment we saw her. Beauty, brains, heart, presence.....she was the total package. So great to watch her and her bestie Reintje in their paddock running. Seeing baby Belle in the paddock too with those ultra long legs is always a treat. She is going to be just like both her Moms, sweet natured and beautiful too. Happy moments at Stahl H today. Everyone looked fantastic.

I found it rather weird, and kind of "unsettling" in an inexplicable way, that Queen Uniek spent so much time at the side of her Stall; almost constantly watching Belle's every movement in the Stall with Coralle. It was so strange. Uniek must have witnessed over a hundred births of Friesian horses at Stal G. Another three Foals have been born at Stal H since she moved there. Never have I ever seen the Queen watching another Mare's Foal like she watched her own biological Foal, Belle, from surrogate mom, Coralle. I swear, . . . Uniek knew. I don't know how that's possible 🤔, but you can not convince me otherwise. Uniek knew. 👁💙Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!!!

Equal parts joy and sorrow seeing beautiful Queen Uniek, knowing the “countdown” is on. Still unbelievable that she is gone. Uniek, never forgotten. It was sweet to see when you scratched Belle, she “scratched” you back.

I think that it was really nice of Yvonne to share with her friends the joy of riding the big, magnificent Uniek, during their visit. Love seeing the sisterhood of Stal G enjoying themselves, especially Oda looking like her and Skittles are ready for the Rodeo 😂 Seriously though what a blessing it was for Gea, and Rinske to be able to ride the Queen, and therefore leaving them also with a beautiful last memory! Coralle was the perfect fit to carry our little Princess Belle👑, She is definitely going to have attitude at being the Boss, just like both of her mem’s ❤ How sweet it is that Dieuwke and Spidey have such a bond ❤️

I love the friendships that Yvonne has, and it’s like a pony club at Stal H with everyone riding and trying each other’s horses. I also so appreciate seeing the quiet moments of Uniek in her last days. Those were the types of times that formed the bond between her and her special human, Yvonne.

Uniek seems quite taken with little Belle it is almost like she felt some sort of connection towards her. I am so sorry she passed away so unexpectedly . She had a great life with you Yvonne and will be missed greatly.
