It's not about how far you can go on a charge. It's about where you can go.

Great trip. We did it in February 2022 on an Energica and a Zero. Had a blast. Take a buddy. Getting a flat tire out there can be deadly.

I think you have Calico confused with Death Valley. I took a ACR ResQLink on the trip in case I had a near death experience.

Great video. I see nothing wrong in traveling at 50 to 60 mph. You never have to be stressed by speed traps or having to be passing cars all the time because a they will be passing you. I plan on getting a LiveWire 1 or Del Mar. My wife says I have to get rid of the 3 bikes we already own if I want another. A 2006 Buell Uly, a 2007 Sportster, and a 1997 Electraglide. I would agree to getting rid of 1 or 3 of them.

While Nagel was working in William James Hall at Harvard University one summer, he noticed a spider that lived in the men’s urinal. Every time the urinal flushed, the poor arachnid would make a mad dash for its life so as not to drown. Nagel was concerned about what would happen to it when classes were in session and the urinal was flushed with greater frequency. After long and careful deliberation, Nagel decided to liberate the spider. He carefully removed it from the urinal with a paper towel and placed it in a corner of the room. At first the spider did not move, and Nagel assumed it was getting its bearings. He left town over a holiday weekend, and when he returned the poor spider had still not moved. It was quite dry and quite dead. Nagel recounts this episode in The View from Nowhere (1986). His implication seems to be that even the greatest compassion and best intentions may miss their objective, due to a lack of understanding of the circumstances of another.

While researching the Livewire motorcycle your video came up and I was interested because I had just been to Death Valley. To my surprise you captured me coming back at 15:34 minutes. What are the odds.

I just love how quiet the ride seems to be without the engine noise an ICE motorcycle makes. I know that there is wind noise but ear plugs can easily mitigate that. Other than a bit of stress because of where you are at it certainly seems like such a nice pleasurable ride.

It was a great ride. I'm still thinking about it a week later. And yes, I always wear ear plugs when I ride.

jehugarcia did a family trip to Death Valley with his Rivian a few months ago...interesting hearing him talk about how cheap the trip was... It's a shame you couldn't ride 190 thru the park...it's a kick-in-the-rear ride... (I regularly ride 178 to 190 to Lone Pine, or Olancha as a loop from my home in Ridgecrest. (The road closures always seem to be east of the junction, so I ride it even when DV is posted as "Road Closed.") Debating whether I want to put a deposit down on the Del Mar... (I only have a City Slicker electric right now....a neat toy for errands...plenty of gas powered bikes...)

I live a few miles from CSC. I've tried to buy the City Slicker a few times. But, they always refuse to let me take it for a test ride. As far as I can tell, they are selling like crazy. I currently ride a Z125 around for errands. I intend to replace it with a Del Mar next year. Death Valley is my favorite National Park next to Yellowstone. My favorite ride is to the Death Valley Racetrack: www.nps.gov/deva/planyourvisit/the-racetrack.htm

Wonderful trip and what you're doing. I just recently went from gas to electric and back to gas. I'll return to EV in a heartbeat as soon as EV makers offer the same features as my Multistrada V4S. I love the deserts of SoCal since I grew up there.

I just got rid of my Streetfighter V4S. I just wasn't riding it anymore. It's not as good in the canyons as the LiveWire ONE. I haven't been able to get a test ride on a Multistrada V4 or a Panamerica. I've pretty much converted to electric with both cars and motorcycles. My only vice is my Polaris Turbo S. I think it's still the best way to experience the Southern California desert. Polaris has recently invested money in Zero. I hope there is a good electric option coming soon.

I love the unedited footage, it shows the true capabilities of this motorcycle. I am impressed, although my favourite is still the 76 mile commute. The whole journey at motorway speeds, that showed the possible range, now they need to work on bringing charge times down, I'll be happy with 10% to 80% in 15 minutes. Gives me time to drain and replenish myself while the bike fills 😂

I live in Las Vegas and made the Death Valley trip many times, to make it in such high winds, speak volumes for the livewire design likely stability... or do you attribute that to your riding skills? I rode numerous bikes there and the wind blew me all over the place....

So basically going at the pace of a scooter....my 150cc scooter can go at a faster pace. The question is why pay so much for such limitations. I use my ZeroSR for commuting and around town errands which it is perfect for but that is it's limitations. I actually travel via scooter more then I have ever done so with motorcycles. Been up to AK, FL, NY, Maine via a 110cc scooter. My most recent scooter, got it spring this year, 150cc has been to CO and will take it to FL next year. All starting from the BayArea.

Why? Because the LiveWire is a blast to drive and it runs on electricity. Once you go electric, you never want to drive a combustion engine again. You commit to electric motors and never look back. Ninja. You can see how much fun he’s having - even with the planning. Dig it.

Your videos really have me considering the livewire. I have a 80 mile round trip commute over Ortega Hwy here in SoCal. How accurate have you found the route planner app to be in regards to battery state of charge for your trips?
@freedomiseverything
@freedomiseverything 2 жыл бұрын
Ortega is a great ride. I've done it several time on the LiveWire ONE. You'll leave home with a full charge. Due to the nature of the riding (wink, wink) you'll probably get to work with 50% charge or slightly less. If you plug it in to a 110 outlet at work, you'll pickup about 10 miles an hour of charging. Another option would be to DC Fast charge somewhere on the way back. That would add about 25 miles of range in about 10 minutes. Besides having a blast riding twice a day on a great road, you'll also save a ton of money...
@lancairdriver
@lancairdriver Жыл бұрын
Do you feel as though you could get more range with a windscreen? Dealer told be today one of his clients claimed an additional 15% range on highway with his windscreen. If that's the case I wish there was a stock windscreen to purchase, not too many first party accessories available for this bike.
@freedomiseverything
@freedomiseverything 7 ай бұрын
I have no reason to think that a windscreen would increase range.

I really wish Elon Musk would’ve purchased LiveWire instead of Twitter the stock is dying it is such a shame our motorcycle is probably one of the greatest vehicles ever created in our modern times it’s being totally overlooked because of the stupid range thing that’s never made a difference in my experience with the bike ever or hating on it just because it’s electric
@freedomiseverything
@freedomiseverything 2 жыл бұрын
This video was my attempt to illustrate that "the stupid range thing" is really not an issue in most cases. Elon faced the same problem with his electric cars. Everyone use to say Tesla cars were too expensive and caused "range anxiety." I think it is very important that LiveWire owners continue to share their experiences in order to help the company promote itself.
