Some people might say or think the rubbish and junk is sad and ugly out in nature, but in those places it’s oddly beautiful. I know that’s not right or even the best description but it’s kinda cool and shows how humans affect their environment.

Tim, wonderful Pgh ride. I recognized most of the locations but many of the pathways were new to me. You even did part of the Duck Hollow trail. I saw that you rode along the original wall to the Allegheny Arsenal and ended up at the historic Allegheny Cemetery. The Allegheny Arsenal was our nations largest arsenal and served from the war of 1812 through WWI. On 9/17/1862 there was a huge explosion at the arsenal killing 78 people mostly teenage girls who were employees. A spark ignited some black powder that exploded three buidings and killed the workers reporting that day for thier pay. Their body parts are burried in a mass grave in the Allegheny Cemetery. Composer Stephen Foster is also burried at the cemetery. The land for the cemetery was sold to the U.S. Government by Foster’s father.

Awesome! As I mentioned on your Stream, Peter Santorello is sort of like a modern day Charles Kuralt, he recently went into Pittsburg, and interviewed a lot of folks. Many were on meth. Very cool historical and social perspectives . Couple Q's: What is a "cut"? Also, how TF did you figure out that complex route? Or was that on, like, Ride W/GPS or Strava or whatever? Abandoned RR bridges???!!! , OMG. I'm starting to grok upon Erin's bike, a sleek gravel suspension fork. That doesn't look like my doofey 90's Rock Shox. WANT. I must call Surly. I have their regular fork on my heavy mule and it's fucking awesome. I just got a nice,mysterious, Argentinian steel road frame , for free . I will put my 27" wheels on that with the brand new Panaracers in good old 27 X 1 1/4. Phil wood hub in the back, that one of my lovely ride fans gave me years ago. So not a gravel bike , this one's gonna be really blingy . Oh and.... why do hipsters wear Campagnolo hats while drinking bougey craft IPA's while ironically, talking full bore anarchy? There should be a law against that. Stay tuned for my new video tutorial "How to irritate Tim FitzWater" . (Get him to almost full boil, then dodge when he throws his beer at you. )

If you look for meth addicts, you'll find meth addicts. There's lots of other angles of Pittsburgh that are incredible. We do a lot of exploring and linking roads or paths or 'cuts'. A lot of us in the riding circles swap info and share spots and take each other to areas to explore. The more you ride the more you get to explore. Hope any of that helps! Cheers.
@robertgraves32152 ай бұрын
@@christopherpollack2654 I ride daily , roadie since '72. Have never heard the term "cut" used in cycling. Please 'splain. I was obviously being satirical on Santarello . But let's be clear, meth etc. IS a thing. You have to actually watch his videos , they are quite good. Some depresso, but some hope.. God Bless. So the leader of that ride is a Pittsburg local? I cherish USA steel.
@TimFitzwater2 ай бұрын
Yes - a local was taking us on a route he planned for this - "greatest hits" as his buddy with the flat we ran into called it. You don't need to be someone who rides bikes to know what a "cut" is .....I always thought.....

Gotta be honest...you lost me immediately by shooting video in the car. It kills me when I see cyclists recording video/distracted driving. We are constantly complaining about how careless drivers are, and how dangerous the roads are then get right into a car and do the same thing and perpetuate the madness! Please consider giving your driving 100% of your focus 🙏
@TimFitzwater2 ай бұрын
Have you ever used a GoPro? You literally push one tactile button and point it forward. Changing a radio station or looking at my map app is far more distracting than this. I’m not looking at the GoPro screen at all when I’m driving. (Or really ever for that matter) I totally understand your concern - but it’s misplaced with the what I’m doing here.
