Excellent good accurate information. Great to see ‘my’ roads online. You’re correct about the views on your detour they are superior. The Lantern O’er the Lune is the best place to eat in Glasson.

Road this route from Arnside to Glasson many times. Currently in lockdown so been nice to follow a local route on my turbo trainer. Fantastic video, thanks

It's a great area to cycle around. Both the Bay Cycleway and Way of the Roses are great routes! Thanks for your comments. Steve

Doing this ride at the weekend, although in the reverse direction starting at Glasson - was great to see it in so much detail in advance!

Great to see the second video in this series. It's refreshing to hear how well signposted the route is. I'm cycling this route in September and really looking forward to it. I hope we have the sunny weather you had! Cheers

Hi Peter, I really do hope you have good weather and enjoy the Bay Cycle way when you get to do it. Let us know how the trip goes and what you have planned next if anything :)

My wife and I cycled the Bay Cycleway last weekend and loved it. We stayed over in Grange over Sands to spilt it into two days. We were lucky with the weather, mild and dry with mostly sunny skies and light winds for September. I can recommend the cafe next to Gleason Water Mill (Dusty Miller's) for a bite to eat before tackling the first climbs on day 1. And a stop at Arnside for a coffee and cake is a must on the second day. I can't recommend the route highly enough for a leisurely two-day tour with a few climbs in there to make it feel like you achieved something.

Hi, Peter, I'm glad you and your wife enjoyed the route, it's a good one with a variety of things to see and do on the way. Thanks for the update and a couple of tips for future riders of this coastal (well mostly) bike tour. Cheers Steve

Wow! Weren't you lucky with the weather. Might be a different ride into a south-westerly! Another ride for my to do list- it's getting longer by the day!

Cheers, Peter, we do tend to be that lucky when being out and about, if the weather is extremely bad we don't film so you would never see it :) We recently did the Coast and Castles, and we had quite a few hours of rain during that 3-day event ;)

Done the Grange to Glasson quite a few times. Glasson too cockersands is just great no hills just as flat as can be. Try lancaster to cockersands for the less experienced and no so fit. Liked your videos but for one point...the music did my brain in, it was like a funeral March but speeded up.

Thanks, Allan for the comments, and I am glad you liked the video, the newer films, have less music in them! Which means that they should be less brain injuring :)

@@CycleroutesInfo Thanks.Just a suggestion try some Jazz masters or or paul hardcastle chilled stuff. Just perfect for cycling especially on sunny day's just makes the scenery more appealing. The hills going to Ulverston and Grange are for me difficult but the views are worth it.

A very pleasing cycle route is Skinburness way up on the west coast of Cumbria too whitehaven. It's the same cycle route 700 you where on. The coastal view of Scotland the isle of man and the peaks of the lakes can be seen but only on a very sunny day. I would highly recommend the journey for light cyclists and newcomers to cycling. It's a journey I did in 2018 in the middle of that heatwave. But I initially came down from gretna green on the Roman road. It's called hadrian's cycle route.

@@allanmiller6897 Yeah I know the area, it's a great part of the country, we went from Maryport to Newcastle along it last year, and way back in 2012 we rode Ravenglass to Newcastle along the Hadrians route. I think it was possibly 2018 when I rode Reavers which came back and ended in Whitehaven. Steve

No rides in over a year. You ok?

Thanks for asking, no need for concern though, we are all fit and well. We do ride, and I often film the rides then archive the results until I get a chance to edit the footage. I just do not have time at the moment to do much of the editing. We often post the rides on Strava and throw an occasional picture on Instagram or twitter. Steve

@@CycleroutesInfo I know what you mean, I haven't uploaded any videos in ages either. Very time consuming even for a very basic edit.
