Thanks for sharing. I rode the train for the first time yesterday. It was a grand experience. I would do it again when the aspens are golden.

Glad you enjoyed the ride! We're going to go back to photograph when the aspens turn. It's the best time of the year!

I last rode this line in 2015 and spent 99% of the trip standing in the open car! It was a memorable trip in the opposite direction with a very good lunch stop.

I think going from Chama to Antonito would be more interesting because you have that 4% grade to climb to Cumbres Pass.

This is awesome! Hard to believe that you've never ridden the whole railroad before. If it's not a doubleheader up Cumbres Pass, by far my favorite way to ride is Antonito to Chama. Sure shows off the pretty crazy variety of scenery in those 64 miles. The East Side is absolutely my favorite for chasing/photographing the train. There's not a single inch that you can't get to, even though some spots take some hiking. But that makes some of them all the sweeter. And the sounds of the train if you hike in to Toltec Creek or MP303 are worth the hike alone. I've definitely spent a few times there without once raising my camera, just spellbound by the sounds of the train up there. Thanks for the video! Roger sure was a one of a kind, that's for sure.

I mean, I don’t know, I’m not an expert on railroad equipment and not having been familiar with them, are we sure they’re not Amtrak Superliners? 🤔 🧐
@YardLimit5 ай бұрын
Now that you mention it, these cars are probably riding better than the Superliners east of Madrid.
