Fix 5/6 gears, fix the idle, and don't run it wide open all the time! You're gonna melt/seize the piston.

The high idle could be from an air leak after the carb. or you need more fuel at idle. Maybe adjusting the air fuel ratio screw to a more rich condition, would bring the revs down( adding more fuel at idle ). All that is if the idle screw is completely out.

well yesturday i was riding and found a 6th gear, lunged hard into it the first time then shifts smooth, i put a after market shifter on my bike and it rubbs the stator cover so doesnt like going into 2nd from 1st, never heard of a 2nd not liking 1st. id take it to a shop and get them to rebuild the whole motor so its reliable and thats resale value.

You're not supposed to leave 2 Strokes idling for such a long time. The engine doesn't get enough oil because there's not much fuel moving through it.

Yep. Also you're not supposed to run down a hill totally without throttle (9:40) cause the engine only gets oil for idle, while actually cranking much higher

Aaand, you shouldn't ride the bike on normal roads anyway. the bike gets to little resistance. I have the same bike. and I had to change out my piston 2 days ago because I rode in on normal (pavement) roads. (I have a yz85 2007 bike)

That dirtbike would be a lot faster if you new how to ride it not just flying through all the gears let it get close to the rev limiter and then switch is the power band in second or third gear on that bike
