Riding The Longdendale Trail Video 2015

Another regular cycling route which we really enjoy riding, this time on part of the NCR 62 from the Woodhead Tunnel's Western entrance down the six and a half mile trail to Hadfield, where we refuel and return via the same route to the carpark at Woodhead.

This route was in much better nick this spring and most of the road works had gone. Do-able on a tourer/hybrid but I did walk down the steep rough section from the top of the pass just as you cross the main road at the tunnels.

Nice trail but when ridden in the wet all the sand knackers your gears and crank up, the sand is like a grinding paste, you can hear it as you ride...

Yep, that's true one year I destroyed both sets of brake pads. If it's raining when we ride this trail I try to ignore the brakes as much as possible :)
