Riding the modified and improved Velotric Summit 1 ebike

Nice ride. The trails are nice. I get more nervous going through town. I was just waiting on a car door to open. Lol. I'm a little paranoid when it comes to that. I get in the lane with the cars. I can go as fast as they can in spots like that.

Hey Tom, nice updates on the bike. if that bike has the same motor as my wifes Velotric Nomad its a great motor. Powerful and very efficient. I'll bet it is better with the torque sensor.

Do you ever run into the E5A error on climbs with the motor overheating? That climb starting at 17:00 would have overheated my Summit 1 in 3-4 minutes.

Hello, that's interesting, I have never got any sort of error code with this bike. I've done sustained 30 minute steep climbs and all I've noticed is that the motor will get a little louder under the heavy load. I try hard to stay in pas 3 or 4 (boost) and only use level 5 in climbing emergencies.... maybe that is the difference? It is funny how motors vary so much from bike to bike. I've noticed that on many of the ebikes I've had, both hub motors and mid drives. Cheers

Another brilliant video with superb views. The new bike seems to be fantastic and it looks really good. I tried to buy one but sadly not available as yet in the UK. Like yourself I have the cyrusher ranger which is a brilliant bike was just wondering what's the new 1 like with it been a hardtail when on the rough ground ..

How would you compare your new Velotric Summit with your CYCRUSHER Bike. I find myself torn between buying a lazy type fat tire and a EMTB like the Velotric. I currently have 3 ebikes and my favorite this far is my own build on a fixed tail MTB. But those fat tire bikes look fun for cruising. Tough decisions.

Hi Greg, It is a tough choice between the two. Each bike has its own strengths and I guess it really comes down to what you want to do with it. The Cyrusher Ranger is a fantastic off road single track explorer bike. With the fat tires it is truly a four season bike as well. I have studded snows for it and can safely go just about anywhere in the winter. The fat tires also make rocky trails much easier and safer, you don't need to worry so much about wheel placement on the trails, just roll over everything. The Ranger also has more power than the Summit, and of course full suspension. The Summit has the big advantage of looking more like a traditional mtb, so you can take it places that I wouldn't take the Ranger, like bike parks and busy single track. People look at me like I'm on a mtb out on the trails and not like I''m breaking the law with a big fat tire ebike. Most of my biking years have been spent on hard tail mtb's, so I'm right at home on the Summit. Both bikes will need suspension upgrades when you get it, just entry level spring forks on both. The frames of both bikes are well designed with good geometry for off road riding and touring. The ranger has been 100% reliable, never a problem with any of the electrics. So far the Summit seems good but ask me again after the first 1k of riding. I really enjoy both but choose one over the other based on where I am going to be riding. Cheers

Hello, thanks for watching! I started ebiking a couple of years ago as a way of making riding more fun (yes I was getting slow in my old age), and it has! I bought the large frame Summit which fits me perfectly at 5'11''. If you look on the website you will see two frame styles shown, the one with the offset rear triangle is the large. Cheers
