I was born right there one the base you speak of in Carswell AFB hospital in 1955 Thomas. The area of course looked way different then. My Dad, a 2nd Lieutenant, flew the B52’s training Navigators. Then went on to become a Captain for a major commercial airline. Great to see you up and about Tom! I hope you are feeling better. Would love to do this ride. Maybe you can show me sometime. Safe travels.

I've been doing that route since 1974 when I rode a Honda 305 Dream. Every bike I've had since gets taken on it. I just did it last, 2 weeks ago on my new Goldwing DCT!

Hello Thomas, thanks for taking us for the ride. Great video. I just picked up my 2024 Honda Gold Wing Tour manual clutch. I had the 2018 DCT; liked it much but prefer the manual. Ride safe. I just posted my first video of the 2024. Will follow up with the ride video soon. We got a little snow in the area; salt and brine on the road. Waiting for that to clear.

I had a Rebel 1100 DCT and to my surprise, much preferred the manual. The Sports option helped some but I still felt that getting shifted into 6th gear at 33 mph was too much for me…always felt underpowered unless I used the paddle to get me into a reasonable gear. I also missed the engine brake. What was it that you didn’t like? Watching these videos makes me think that maybe I just didn’t use it appropriately?

Nice peaceful ride through some nice country. I'm thinking of putting a fan on my desk for wind therapy as I watch. We have a snow storm coming in on Tuesday up hear in the Notheast so I can only wait. Thanks for the good video.

That road along the lake must be totally green from the trees in the summer

7 minutes already into the video and not a single mention of the goldwing. all i heard was the annoying sound of you kept swallowing your saliva. smh..
