What do you reckon the greatest practical front wheel deflection angle in a tight turn for a skilled rider?

I have come close to 90 degrees when going very very slow. Rarely though. Most of the time there is not much deflection at all. But I can make tighter turns at slow speed on a Cruzbike better than any other recumbent I have ridden.

If I have to make really tight turn, I sit up and let my feet hang down. Letting feet hang down is useful if not yet totally in control of front end.

So I've heard Jim Parker in other videos (i.e. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5CvpKGeqr57eKc) talk about getting more power out of pedaling a Cruzbike by "pulling" the handlebar on the same side as the foot that's pushing out... as opposed to the opposite pushing motion you're describing here. When you're trying to achieve maximum power on a hill climb is it better to push or pull (or some combination of both) on the handlebars with your arms?

Tony - It's really a personal preference and both do work. The act of pushing and pulling in rhythm to the pedal stroke though is (for me) more apt on things like sprints and hill climbing where I want that extra boost. For the majority of my riding and when the course is more casual - I prefer to leverage both arms forward gently. When clipped in and riding casually - there can be only very gentile input needed as a smooth pedal circle will be doing the majority of the work at that point. 👍

@@Cruzbike I still find it more natural to pull back on same side as the leg push, although I do like to often just push on bars instead. It is still harder to balance at slow speed due to lower center of gravity. I have a QX100 and a T50, both heavily modified to be more like the S40.
