This is the kind of place that's always looking for a young ambitious guy like Matt who loves to work for a big farming operation and they in turn need to reward him handsomely I hope! All the ground and high tech , high dollar machinery isn't good for to much without competent reliable help to run it and I'd say this farm must have a lot of them! I'm glad you have a good relationship with the owners and operators so you can bring us these great videos!

People always have something to say but 20% moisture is about ideal for corn harvest. Head loss goes up as it gets drier. Harvesting 18-22% generally reduces yield loss enough to pay the extra drying cost.
@dairy495 жыл бұрын
Maybe the best harvest video yet. Love that you were in the combine for several evolutions of shelling and unloading. Really showed the coordination involved in harvesting with multiple machines. Great job!

I was a farm hand as a teenager in central Illinois ran the trucks from the fields to the silos and augured the corn up into the silo. The farmer I worked for bought is first ever JD combine I was shocked always a Massy Ferguson man but that JD could harvest so much quicker. That was 1981 technology as came along way. Thanks for the video.

You should come to Central Ohio and spend a day at our farm. Darby Farms. We run a Gleaner S96 and a JD 8270R with a Kinze 1100 grain cart. We also run two Frieghtliners with Timpte grain trailers and a decant sized bin setup with a brand new 84 foot Westfield auger. We would love to show you all of them in action for your channel.

Good stuff, very interesting, keep doing what you're doing guys. Question for you. How does the combine operator and the grain cart operator know when the combine auger is lined up? What kind of coordination is required between the two of them when emptying on-the-fly? I wasn't very much communication by radio, but I'm sure those distinctive electronic beeps I heard inside the combine cab mean different things. Otherwise they would all be the same tone LOL

Wondering what you were referring to about the new 9R tractor numbers? We run 9R’s and I’m curious about what the next model year change will bring. Hopefully more hp! Maybe a 9700R:)
@bigtractorpower5 жыл бұрын
The next generation of John Deere tractors model numbers will read 9R 420, 8R 370 etc... instead of 9420R and 8370R. There are new cabs, new head lights. More black trim around the decals. I think we will at least see the 8R and 8RX at the big show in Louisville, KY next year.
