"Cut it three times, and it's still too short!" This brings me to my "Auschusion Discussion". I know the frustration of those rubber couplings. They make a "REPAIR" unit that doesn't have the centering lip inside, you slide the whole thing on one pipe, line it up and push over both pipes till even. I'm glad to see that the toilet didn't crack when frozen, we have to blow out all exposed pumps or they crack when it gets Real cold. I am happy that your team has a Thorne. Ya'll deserve it.

You guys are on a roll! Working like pros! Passing all inspections!👍👍👍.....Just one little tid bit. The real good Plumbing pros will keep the water inlet lines capped off and not install the valves just yet until the drywall contractors come in and put up the drywall. Then the Plumbers come back and remove the cap-offs and install the valves. Their objective is to make life easier for the drywall contractors, not that any code violation occurred. So then the drywall folks can just cut a hole the size of the pipe, not the size of the valves. I hope this makes your life easier in the future.

I don't know if you have plans for this or not---BUT before you seal up the walls you should find a way to seal up the holes in the floor where plumbing penetrates. It is amazing how small a hole critters can climb through trying to find a warm spot for the winter. Personally have used a 000 steel wool. They do not like to chew on the steel. foam doesn't always work

I yrs.ago used fertilizer bbs in the toilet to thaw out the toilet in dead of winter in my bus! It was cheap and worked!

@17:00 If you are planning to leave that pipe at that distance below grade you'll need to move the entire property to somewhere south of Dallas. Where you are located I'd guess it needs at least another three feet to keep it from freezing. If I missed something that makes this observation incorrect I'd like to know what it was. The number of folks who pass that plumbing inspection the first time with the equivalent of your experience is virtually nil. Well done.

I gotta say your rubber drainage 'ring seals - better known as fernco couplers in the uk@' seem very short i wouldnt like to trust them to make a long lasting underground seal, once again difference between uk and us plumbing. Interesting stuff though :)

It looked like the wax ring still had that hard plastic wrapper on it when you mounted it. I always remove that plastic covering, place the flat side of the wax ring down on the closet flange, and then sit the toilet on top... using the screws to line it up properly. That way, the rounded edges on the top of the wax ring compress up into the bottom of the toilet to form a good seal. Can you dig what I’m saying here?

Bath spout. Did you use pex or copper? I make the mistake of using pen years ago as a rookie installing pex to the down spout and water dribbles out the shower spout when you don’t want it to. The ID is too small so copper is in order otherwise the pressure builds and up it goes! Did that make sense?🤔

Rushing the job once again, instead of thinking the best order of work through first.you should have drywalled first before fitting the water valves/couplings and units, now you are going to have work around them, much more difficult to do.
