We keep over 100 cans of food which we rotate weekly I’m happy with that amount. It’s just the two of us. It’s also good to have a book on how to forage for food.

The kindling splitter is a good choice for kids to help around the house. No axe/hatchet for the kiddos to use and limits accidents. I would give them wood with less knots and they can help out. Obvioiusly under close supervision.

Many yrs back the northeast had a power outage. I had some cash and ran out to Radio Shack (remember them?) for some batteries. A crowd was outside the store waving cards and shouting requests. No power, no processing cards. I waved cash and got some D batteries. My denominations were small and I was able to get a couple dollars change. These days I keep some cash at home and can light up Times Square on a cloudy day.

You can still have faith and make sure you have what you need. If that’s the case we wouldn’t need to pray, just have faith and don’t worry about it.

I use one one those kindling tools you were using.I bolted on to a pallet and cut a hole under the ring so the wood would fall through. Love it.

Great Tips Martin :) So many things that most don't think about 👍, Yes some places need Emergency kit that is built for your needs in your area but some stings are just a must ! Either way the knots will fight you :) That splitter works awesome on wood that is not full of knots, I axe all my kindling :)

Highly recommend having important documents printed, put into gallon size zip-lock bags, then put into a dry-bag. Yes, a USB Flash Drive can store a lot of stuff...but the emergency is for a situation where power is out for an extended period of time OR you have to bug-out, you may not have a computer to plug the USB drive into let alone a functioning printer!

FDA says can food is good indefinitely if the can is good. We ate can food that my grandma had in her basement that was 21 years old. We couldn't tell the difference between a new can. The ingredient list was better.😊

Your splitter fixture is good if you want to sit in front of it and narrate a KZbin video. Otherwise, stick with the axe. It restricts the diameter of the log but you don't have to chase the pieces as much after splitting. How much of that size do you really need? Your fire box accepts a larger split log size and you start a fire fairly infrequently. Thanks for the advice.

It was designed by a school girl in New Zealand as a safe way children and those with no experience can cut kindling. If you are an adult, then yes axe is the way

Martin, I don’t mean this in a bad way but it’s obvious that you’ve never been in a true survival situation. When your life is on the line survival is being happy and survival is feeling good. Maybe you’re talking about not having power for a few days and you may be right about that.

For someone who's a man of God, it seems a bit contradictory that you're putting out a video about prepping. What about faith? I'm sorry, this aspect of what this channel has become doesn't sit well with me.
