Ridley's down throw has a nice, albeit situational, DI mix up too: If you grab someone at ledge around 80-90% and they DI in (which a lot of people do), you can true combo into an up air that will likely KO. This guide is phenomenal btw. I've been playing Ridley since this game came out and I still learned a couple new tricks!

Referring to Wing Blitz as “Budget Wonderwing” is now one of my favorite things to do. As a Ridley main who has a certain affinity for using it as a call-out, I thank you greatly for this guide on the whole, especially since there’s basically no good Ridley content nowadays.

The latter is very much true, unfortunately. Since Vreyvus is the only useful example of covering Ridley's important aspects and he's been inactive on KZbin for 3 years already. I'm still waiting on his advantage guide because that's what I'm struggling to figure out myself the most. Also yeah, wing blits is too good for punishing

Might I just add real fast, that Ridley’s Up-B pointed down will travel through platforms unlike his Down A which stops at the first thing it touches. This makes for a similar meteor to Yoshi’s, being able to hit people using the platform overhead as a shield.

Down angled up b spike is so underrated for the massive range it has + the spike hitbox lasts during the entire duration and if you stop holding down while doing it you will snap to the ledge. Most meteor smash moved only spike during the 1st 2 frames you initiate them. Only two moves in spike during the entire hitbox.

Wanted to emphasize this, it's a way to 2-frame recoveries when Ridley's at the edge of the stage.

Something about down smash is on platforms it’s such a good mix up cause everyone always jumps to aerials you but you jump first and when you slam back down cause ur on platform it kills even earlier

If you jump once before a down air, you’ll still have two jumps and your up-b left, and can make it back to stage (when trying to interrupt your opponents recovery)

Its so sad that they gave ridley the mewtwo treatment. He feels like a skeleton of the version of himself seen in stuff like metroid prime, plus he's lighter than samus while possessing worse air physics and an awkward up b. That being said, when the character works, they're very fun. This video is a great addition for anyone wanting to learn Ridley

Ridley’s frame is so large he can buffer a footstool from ledge jump- this makes footstool D.air at ledge a funny uno reverse card
