This is consistent with both conservation of matter and energy. However, the comment of grinding them out of existence implies grinding the matter itself out of existence. This is what I claimed is impossible. It is impossible precisely because it is equivalent to violating energy conservation. This is because while you can convert atoms into non-atoms, those non-atoms are still matter. Even if you break the nucleus of the atom apart into flying protons and neutrons, you still have matter. There's a slight mistake here in this calculation, MatPat. I can't guarantee you'll see it, but Ridley actually is crouching during his "standing" animation. To get an accurate estimation of his full height, one of his taunts actually shows him standing up straight. I'd recalculate this myself for you but frankly I'm tired and lazy. As far as calculations go with what you've used, it's solid, however it's likely much more damaging.

Ridley's immense speed actually makes sense due to his ability to fly into space which would mean he could be capable of reaching ESCAPE VELOCITY, roughly 25200 Miles per hour or Mach 33. And this isn't taking into account Ridley's OTHER ridiculous abilities. He is capable of surviving in the vacuum of space for extended periods, his skin is durable enough to withstand numerous hits from high-explosive missiles and directed energy weapons, he has the ability to project streams of high-intensity plasma from his mouth, his regenerative capabilities are incredible, and he's an extremely intelligent tactician and naval commander. His title, Cunning god of Death, is well earned.

As a rule for hypothetical math undershooting is usually better and has less hyperbole than overshooting it, and worst case scenario, add to the numbers. So all in all, most characters aren't upwards of 7ft in smash, and with full height and weight it only gets worse presumably.

Yeah, measurements used seemed to be absolute minumum possible. Even then it's still exceptionally brutal. Adding more height or mass to that, it would be even worse. Good thing Samus has that suit to minimize the damage.

To be fair, in Metroid we're seen Ridley physically traverse from planet to planet with nothing but his own two wings on several occasions, hell he even does it in smash during his final smash. He's even seen outspeeding Samus' gunship on several occasions (albeit he usually has a headstart which means he's at least keeping pace with the ship). So the breakneck speeds that we see him moving at here are to be expected. In fact it's probably on the lower end of the speed feats he's got under his belt.

When he's calculating Ridley's height when he compares him to Samus he's kind of crouching, so matpat would need to use his up taunt to see his actual height
