I just wanted to let any viewers know I went back to Michigan this weekend and finally climbed that hill I struggled on in this video with both the Rieju Ranger 300 and Beta Xtrainer. I just needed a little more practice and hold the throttle wide open.

Help Needed. I have watched a few of your Videos this morning and I can relate to the Logging Video, I'm a snowmobiler and I have ran across that many times in Northern Wisconsin, it's no fun! I'm looking at the Rieju 300 Ranger, I'm new to riding and many say this is a good bike to start out with as it's detuned etc... I have also looked at the GPX 300, SWM 500re , Major brand 250's etc... I have looked and read so much my head is spinning which way to go. I'm in my upper 50's with lots of life left (hopefully) and I plan to do the type of riding you're doing, single track, trails etc... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated on this bike and any other ideas. I live in Northern Wisconsin and we do not have much for Dirt Bikes here, LOTS of snowmobiling and UTV/ATV trails. I see you go in Michigan, any areas in the UP you can recommend for Dirt Biking ? THANKS!

Hi there, I think the Rieju Ranger is a very good bike. After owning it for a while now, I haven't had any issues. It's easy to work on, and all the tech seems well-thought-out, with all the bolts easily accessible. I often compare it to my Beta Xtrainer since they have similar power. One thing to note is that I'm just over 6 feet tall, and both bikes needed a taller seat height for me to be comfortable. Otherwise, I'd really feel it in my knees and hips after a long ride. With the Beta, the stock seat was a 2x4, so I opted for the Seat Concepts tall seat. For the Rieju, I bought a Rieju MR Pro seat and had my dealer install a Seat Concepts cover on it. This raised the seat height over an inch on the Rieju. If you're on the shorter side, the Rieju might be perfect as the stock seat is actually pretty good. But for me now with the MR pro seat and cover, it's perfect and super comfortable. My Rieju Ranger also gets much better fuel range in stock form. I've never run either bike empty, but I know the Rieju can go about 50-60 miles before needing to switch to reserve. As far as places to ride. I haven't really gone into the UP yet. I know there are a few singletrack areas close to the border. You can use this map to find everything in Michigan. midnr.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=1710727ba3ec4c64928110fdb4f7799d I'd also recommend checking out Canonshot's gps files he's built over the years. He has lot's of locations in Michigan and Wisconsin. They might not be all singletrack but they typically use sections of them for his adventures. cannonshot.net/wp/category/gps/ I'm not sure what your budget is but you might also want to check out the Beta 390RS, I just did a beta demo day and tested it. I really liked it and it's probably the most user friendly power band on a 4 stroke. I highly suggest trying to attend a beta demo day. If you go and like the Xtrainer power you'll like the Rieju power. The Rieju has a little more hit in the midrange. Also, I feel like something like the 390RS might be better on your snowmobile type of trails. I hope this helps.

@@notgamingwithmax Thank You for all of the information and getting back to me. I'm 6'1'' and weigh 200lbs. I was looking at the 2023 Ranger 300 and the dealer (Metro Motorcycles) has sold both of them they had.

@@deang4438 Your welcome, at 6'1" you'd definitley want to switch the seat to a pro model or you'll certainly have sore knees by the end of the day. I saw that Metro cycle deal a while back and it was a good one. I've seen a few of the rangers on facebook for good prices. I think the 2022 and 2023 models are the same.

What are the main differences between the Ranger and the Xtrainer ? What are the pros and cons of each bike ?
@notgamingwithmax Жыл бұрын
Pretty much the main differences to me are the Rieju comes with a kickstart and softer tires and the Beta has an electric fan for the radiator. They both make about the same power but the power curve is slightly different. The beta's power is more linear and has less hit but develops right off the bottom rpm range and the Rieju's power develops very low as well but a few hundred to maybe 800 rpm higher and also has a harder mid-range hit that is more like a traditional two-stroke. Also, the Beta is a counterbalanced motor and the Rieju is not but I don't notice any more vibes from the Rieju over the Beta. Also from what I've been told, if you just change the pipe and re-jet the Rieju you can get over 50hp but you lose the bottom-end torque. I hope that helps.

@@notgamingwithmax Alright thank you very much

@@notgamingwithmax Actually, if you install the S3 pipe, adjust the power valve and jet correctly, you will NOT lose the low end on the Rieju, but have screaming top end. Yours sounds like it cant breathe.

@@T.D.111 Thanks for the tip. Something to think about for the future. I've been tinkering with a JD jet kit lately and have been struggling to dial it in on the top end. I think the bike wants to breathe like you are saying. I might have take this up as a project for next summer.
