This was the sequel to Farm Family in Autumn, and was followed by ...in Spring and (surprise!) ...in Summer. Fun fact: Dale became a football player for 6 seasons in the '80s: NFL, CFL and USFL.

We had some old family friends who lived in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, about 20 or so miles from Whitewater, Wisconsin. The water sourced there was not pure enough for a dishwasher to work properly. They used the dishwasher installed to store their bread.

@@zoeyrochellezhombie829 they were never part of Rifftrax, I don't think. It's not the same as MST3K, it was just started by some of the people involved with the show using a key part of the show. I haven't heard all the riffs so it's possible some of the other people have poped up but Rifftrax is pretty much Mike, Bill,Kevin, Bridget and Mary Jo

I wonder if any of the Farm Family shorts actually inspired any kids watching them to become farmers when they were shown in schools? Farming is a vitally important profession to make civilizations function, but these films sure don't make it seem like an aspirational career choice.

People who don't understand agriculture freak out when told the romanticized vision of the "salt of the earth," by-hand producer hasn't been a sustainable business model for at least 40 years. The more we innovate, the fewer animals are affected, and the more people we can feed.

These people believe in some kind of imminent Malthusian collapse if we don't start changing our ways, and the ways they want us to change to are *the fastest/onlyest way to get to that bad end they're afraid of.*

What were these things made for anyway? Were they shown in schools when the teacher wanted to relax for a quarter hour? Did they show them as shorts in movie theaters which wanted to drive customers away? Were they part of government mandated educational TV programming?

yes, they were shown in schools (way before my time) as "educational" films. I currently work at a school (janitor) and the ONLY time a teacher shows a film is about 8 minutes before dismissal, usually a "how it's made" video to calm the younger kids before that last bell rings.
