Isn’t it wild how our brain and muscles can just figure stuff out sometimes? Even if it’s not the thing we are trying to do???

@@SpintronixGuard yes, wildest part is now that I can do a drop spin I can’t do hand rolls anymore because my brain automatically does drop spins

I had a question about rifles, I'm not on a team or anything but I just find interest in picking this up. I don't know exactly what you would call this? rifle guard? but I was wondering what rifle I should purchase being I've never done this and maybe some things I should know beforehand? thanks in advance!

It's still called color guard, whether you use flags, rifles, or sabres. The model that we use at the Spintronix Indoor Guard is the Elite 4, it is a 39" rifle with a leather strap. I like it because it is a little more visual than the 36" Elite 3, which is usually used for beginners, and it is lighter than the King brand of rifles. I would recommend staying away from plastic rifles because for all their publicity, they still break. And unlike wooden ones, if you break a plastic one you can't fix it to its normal glory with wood glue and strapping tape. There are a LOT of people out there who have different opinions on what kind of rifles they like for different reasons, so depending on what you are wanting to do with it you might want to do some research before buying.

+Gabreella it's just something to practice over and over! If you have a mirror to practice in front of or just some glass where you can see your reflection. You are probably letting your arm get too far away from your body.

How many times does the roll need to rotate before catching it in the left back hand ? I've been working on this for a few days now and it doesn't seem to look the same as the instructors .... Help :(
@SpintronixGuard9 жыл бұрын
After the rifle leaves the top of your right hand, it rotates around one more full time before the left hand catches it. I had to slow it down and watch it a couple of times myself to make sure, but it is definitely only one full rotation. Keep in mind that it will look like less spins when you watch yourself while doing it than it will when you watch someone else doing it. The best way would be to practice in front of a mirror or large glass window where you can see your reflection; or even video yourself and watch it!! Happy spinning!

I have tried and tried and still not getting it to rotate properly ... I have been in guard since 7th grade and really never had proper rifle training ... I'm looking into becoming an instructor soon and your videos help a lot . I just wish there was a camp somewhere I could attend

ShyRieka DeBerry How far do you live from Mountain View, MO? Our weekend camp is a great experience for anyone from those who are just starting out to those who have been doing this for ages. We also have an instructor training program for people who have graduated from high school already, and yes we do instruction on rifle!!

ShyRieka DeBerry It's only about a 4 hour drive! You could leave at 3pm and make it there by the time camp starts at 7... We have students, Spinterns, and staff come from Tennessee all the time!!

I don't think I can do it :(( I can't get it to go over my hand
@SpintronixGuard4 жыл бұрын
Hmm... it’s hard to know what advice to give without seeing you personally but are you sure you are placing it on your hand at the correct distance from the balance point? (Keep in mind not all brands of rifles have the exact same balance point...)
@TinyT064 жыл бұрын
@@SpintronixGuard I'm not 100% sure on that but I keep wanting to just catch it like a normal drop spin instead of letting it roll over my hand. However, when I do let it roll the rifle rolls down and out of my hand making the nose of the gun hit my wrist.
