@@cronik2245they needed the length to add velocity to the round. Nowadays with modern cartridges with better powders = faster bullet means the wall of diminishing returns is now closer/ shorter. 308 is basically perfect out of 20 inch barrel. Same with 5.56.

Oh boy I sure do love counting detachable silencer's as rifle size! The L115A3 is much shorter without the fucking silencer that for some reason is counted. The SIG XM7 is also much shorter without an silencer

They come standard with the rifles and they are supposed to be used with the silencer, there is a valid case for both counting and not counting them, the video maker decided that he was going to count the real length that one would be if a soldier was using it, not the length it could be if he took his silencer off.
