Another tips I was told for when I was first learning, was to put something in between your right side and arm, so when you start spinning towards the side, the thing will fall and you'll know that you were spinning to the side.

@briannayoung66396 жыл бұрын
my coach always says to keep your hand like your holding a taco and everytime you feel the rifle hit your hand squeeze really hard and to do one then stop and then do 2 and stop and just keep going until you feel comfortable doing as many in a row as you can. it took me my whole season to finally get drop spins and i had my quad before i got 16 drop spins in a row so it takes a lot of practice and you have to squeeze a lot too.

G R A V I T Y thank you so much for your comment. It gives me an opportunity to educate you. This channel provides instructional videos for marching band students who participate in the colorguard section. This has nothing to do with soldiers in the military. As an educator, I recommend that in the future you ask questions before making assumptions. The reason being... you might not know what you are talking about. Therefore, looking ignorant. Also, the sarcasm isn't needed and wasn't asked for. That's okay though. Ultimately you look uneducated because you are commenting on a subject you know nothing about. I highly recommend you do some background research next time before you post.

Gabrielle Vita it was a joke obviously, because I’ve never seen rifle baton twirlers before lol. I might live under a rock but I don’t live under a boulder. Don’t be so sensitive just enjoy the joke and move on - just a bit of wise words when your using the Internet :)

You are not supposed to push the rifle down when you start the drop spin it's bad technique
@gvita7 жыл бұрын
Misty Freeman that "bad technique" is the technique that the Cadets, Blue Devils, Crown, and other top 5 drum corps use as well as top WGI groups as well. Please don't comment on things you know nothing about.
@mistyfreeman55727 жыл бұрын
Gabrielle Vita I know what I'm talking about my color guard instructor was apart of a WGI group and she taught me how to do drop spins if you push down your more likely to lose control of the rifle so therefore you are supposed to let the rifle fall and use wrist strength to rotate it around your hand
@gvita7 жыл бұрын
Misty Freeman I'm curious which WGI group did she march?

Won't lose control if you're squeezing hard enough and you're not prepping

the drill rifels are 11 pounds an metal and iron with a trigger and a actual bolt and our exibition teams Matto is "if your not bleeding by the end of practice your not trying hard enough" so I don't think your light ass rifel video spinning thing was helpful in my situation ,not saying it's not good. but I am curious why someone such as your self is required to learn that?

A rifle used in marching band and drum corps color guard is not the same usage as for something like the US Marine Silent Drill Platoon, so the technique's going to be a bit different. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYTEZJR9odaYeac Tell me you can do that with 11 lbs (1:13 mark) Or go back to the late 70s... kzbin.info/www/bejne/foukhWmFn6l0nqc
