Any idea where you might get that Mark V haversack? I dont know why I'm looking but I just like the look and feel of the material used in the 1937 gear.

Repros from soldier of fortune, just needs a couple of tweaks: brasses need stripping and polishing, short web section of strap needs replacing (funny colour) and e cord needs replacing.

depending on which unit, regiment etc. would they have worn insignia of any sort? especially if they were wearing 22 pattern. many thanks, Billy from the Queens own royal west Kent LH group 14-18

I understand in Service Dress (and some units in BD) brass insignia would be worn but the majority wearing BD wore no insignia other than rank.

Hi there, I was wondering what No.97 Blanco you're group uses? I'm putting together my BEF impression, got most of it but I've still got a way to go.

+HistoricalAirsoft96 We used repro blocks made for us specifically, organised by one of our members, the supply is running down a little now, I'm afraid they're not available commercially.

Rifleman Moore Ah I see, well I've considered the many options available and I've decided to make myself a batch, as I have a list of the raw ingredients. If I have any luck I'll let you know!

I used SOFs stuff but it's hit and miss, I have also tried the shoe cream method but it came out apple green coloured. For ease, try SOF but do a small patch somewhere it won't be seen and compare the colour. Only criticism I have of SOF other than its inconsistency is that it's got a waxy shiny look to it when several layers are applied whereas blanco should be dry and dusty.

Would a off duty soldier have any pack or if so what pack.
@RiflemanMoore7 жыл бұрын
+planes124 Off duty, no, when walking out that is. If travelling to and from or between barracks soldiers would generally carry their full kit including kit bag.

There's something bizarre about people who want to dress up and pretend they were in WW2 when my dad who was an infantryman for six and a half years in WW2 spent the rest of his life trying to forget it.
@RiflemanMoore4 жыл бұрын
As with the channel itself the intention is to put on an educational display though I grant you there are many people who simply dress up to enjoy the nostalgia of a rather galmourised image of the 1940s.
