" On the road to Mandalay"! Looks like a lot of fun. Makes me want to seek out a group of reenactors in my area. I just checked the internet and discovered the next Victory Show 6th to the 9th of Sept. this year. Looks amazing!

It is a good show, we should be there again with our Chindit display, then in 2020 we're considering representing regular 14th Army troops of some description.

@@RiflemanMoore There's only one thing holding me back from attending this fantastic show. Money. Need to win the lottery.

gunnerjames105 : is you an ex Gunnah then? Get in touch with the Garrison Artillery Volunteers, they might help you out.

@@Commando1940 Yes I am an ex-Gunner, but once a Gunner, always a Gunner! UBIQUE! All set for a large two day event, held the 8th and 9th of June. It takes place at the Military museum in Calgary, Alberta.' Summer Skirmish 2019" Re-enactments and demonstrations -2000 years of warfare. I should be able to gather a ton of information on these groups, as well as entertainment for my family and I. Our Battery does still operate out of the same armouries as when I was in, but don't have a volunteers group as such.

Some nice purchases there. When I was in the ACF between 2012/15 we still used those badge bags. Could you possible do a video on the pattern of 37 webbing used by the BEF at the start of the war, if possible.

Very pleased I have to say! I can certainly do a video on early issue 1937 Pattern at some point, certainly.

Really impressed with this encampment, I’ve recently started doing Burma myself

Many thanks! It's an interesting and overlooked period. Unfortunately there aren't really any decent reproduction uniforms out there but we've been lucky enough to find originals.

I’ve mostly improvised and adapted what’s available online. A long way off from perfect but I’m getting there!

great looking show, loved that chindit hat, back a little while ago when I saw that chindit pack, I mentioned that a buddy had one but that his had two smaller pouches under the two top ammo pouches, the small ammo pouch you just showed is the ones that were under.

What kind of watch are you wearing?
@RiflemanMoore6 жыл бұрын
It's one of the replica Eaglemoss military watches on a replacement leather strap. I forget the exact name they gave it.

This was my first proper reenactment event, I saw the Japanese reenactors but not you lot, would have came over and said hello if I had. I was on the 25 Pounders with the garrison.

We were on the track that splits off half way through the woods, beyond the British Airborne lot. Did you see David? He came over from our group on Sunday to help, served as loader on one of the guns, still in JGs but he did have an RA badged GS cap on.
@superluke56 жыл бұрын
Ah, that's why I never saw you. Was David the the Lance Corporal with the tattoo of the "Vehicle unfit for purpose" sign on his chest? I knew the southern group was down a man (I'm in the Lancashire one) but had no idea he was from another group.
@RiflemanMoore6 жыл бұрын
No tattoos or stripes on David, I'm not sure which gun crew he was with.
@superluke56 жыл бұрын
The person I'm thinking of must have been denims not Jungle greens then, I mustn't have saw him. We had 3 guns there, 2 from the south who we haven't done anything with for a few years and I've only started this year, so he probably slipped by unnoticed.

Poldarias : only just seen this, that Dave was Dave Bungie, he was on the next gun to me.

Is your headgear British or Australian? Thanks so much for posting! An M28 Thompson with Cutts Compensator? A few years ago I read that some Class II (automatic weapons dealer) had swapped some relatively rural police department four new M16s for an M28 they had in their stockroom and hadn't fired in thirty years or more. Sweet! I just found your channel and really enjoy it.

The headgear is British and yes, an M1928 with Cutts Compensator. Glad you're enjoying the video, thanks for commenting!
