Happy to finally come across this video - I remember a young 16 year old kid out of Fargo, about 2 hours from me, called Kid Jonny Lang and the Big Bang, or something like that. Went to his show and then, of course, I got the record, loved it. Fan ever since. Love the "it's just the way it came" guitar vibe.

He plays mostly with his fingers, but he palms a pick as well. He gets so many tones out of his guitars, he doesn't seem to need too many pedals. There's no delay, verb or modulation, just Johnny. Impressive.

Jonny Lang is a nice, humble, talented guy. Great interview by Mr. Bohlinger--I always like his interviews. My cousin worked at a golf course in Litchfield Park Arizona. He was playing one day and got paired with Jonny. Of course my cousin had no idea who he was and asked Jonny what he did. Jonny told him he was a musician and was in town for a gig. My cousin said he was the nicest kid and had a lot of fun playing golf with him. My cousin asked me a few days later if I knew who Jonny Lang was and told me the story. Wish I had been there that day.

From very young this old soul, Lang has had the deepest blue feel, no matter his topic, he plays it deep, wide and real. My favorites are the songs on the trail. Don't stop... Wander this world, many many more... have a big stack of his CDs got 'em as they came out. Thankful to relate, gives me confirmation, these deepest blues we rise above. Be well all. ~RaVen~

The complete opposite of Joe Bonamassa who's a guitar nerd. Not Jonny. He plugs in and knows if it sounds like he wants it to even though he doesn't give a crap how he's getting that tone.

Russell Moker yea Jonny's a cool guy. And has been playing longer or around the same time as Joe. Jonny's just a naturally cool guy. Joe's well not. Somehow joe made it bigger where Jonny seems to be playing smaller gigs. Less known. Should be way more famous but I like when they haven't made it so big that they become self absorbed and obnoxious.

Whoa there Jonny don't piss in the Kool-Aid by suggesting that your 59 re-issue Les Paul sounds so good because it's Light weight. @alanmacification4 жыл бұрын
So, he's taken the exact opposite position. Sounds like someone else is cork sniffing. Guitars are made of wood, it's organic, and no two are exactly the same. Some frequencies will be dampened, others will resonate. What matters is that the construction be solid.
