I find it amazing that he doesn't want a "firm" previously set up "Maroon 5" rig, but a flexible one, that allows him to shape his tone according to the room/venue/crowd... he really takes his role seriously and enjoys playing guitar. @guitaristguy20 Thanks for watching the video -- the interviewer was referring to the fact that fans often accuse artists of taping up their stompbox settings/controls to supposedly hide their tone secrets, but obviously, with James and many touring guitarists, functionality and security is the reason. I don't know how you can "knock" M5. They have killer, melodic pop tunes with great hooks. The actual musical parts aren't simple 3 chord thrown aways. Some really intricate shit going down in their material. James is a fine guitarist no doubt and Levine can really wail too (find the Live from LeCabaret '08, he's not just the pretty boy pop singer).
@Markstun9 жыл бұрын
You are right their songs are mostly 4 chords or sometimes 2
@Kunzler38 жыл бұрын
+Markstun Nothing wrong with that. It can be a challenge to make two chord songs sound great. Hell, try a one chord song. As a blues player myself, I enjoy my three chord progressions. Remember: more chords doesn't necessarily make a better song nor does less chords necessarily make the song worse.
