Well done. My journey is just as you described. Start with SWR, adjust antenna, repeat. Then got a nanoVNA and found it was tricky and seemed unstable. Finally got the stick pro recently and it’s much more usable. Still learning its functions but this helped a lot.

I love it! I have the RE 600 and it was easier to learn but is larger and the Stick Pro has a few more features. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Something that a club could purchase and have a designated operator for field day and also helping new hams get an antenna up and get on the air. Also for tuning a repeater antenna and checking the feed line up the tower on your repeater.

Well. I've got an ancient mfj 8 AA battery big project box clone thing and thanks to this video just pulled the trigger on a rigexpert stick pro :) kept browsing but kept coming back to your video and just seeing how seamless it was in operation in comparison to the incredibly frustrating mfj thing I've got now, it won me over. Its robustness won me over on the nanovna front.

I have the blue stick. I love it. While I appreciate the price and versatility of my nano vna, the built-in functionality of the stick, the display, and the durability and ruggedness have relegated my nano vna to home use. The nano vna had me pulling my hair out trying to see its display in the Texas or Arizona daylight/sunlight. The stick has a clearer display in various conditions. The nano is almost delicate when compared to the Stick.

I wish you put the AA170 and this stick side by side for size comparison. I have an AA230 which I love, but it is a bit too bulky for travels, also, omce every few years I would like to check a 70cm antenna, so I am thinking of this device.

I bought the stick pro after watching quite a few videos, and nobody mentioned its main shortcoming... NO FREQUENCY COUNTER! I bought it to reduce my kit since it is smaller than my MFJ 269D, but guess what, I still have to take the MFJ 269D with me for the frequency counter feature. Also, the Bluetooth is VERY short range, like one car length, and drops out easily, so the stick pro has become the backup at home in a drawer to the 269D.

I keep wondering why when a lot of people say something, maybe they think it's pretty important, they decrease the volume of their voice by about 10 dB. I can hear really well, but many times the ads on channels are 10dB higher in volume than the video audio. I guess I'm too grumpy today?

Hey Josh, have you tried the Range of the Blutooth connectivity to your phone with the stick pro, How far can you go and still be able to read and control the stick pro from the app? @@HamRadioCrashCourse Im sorry, I may didnt explained myself because almost ALL RigExperts analysers like my AA-55 Zoom have it. Even your AA-170 have it, is called MultiSWR where you can watch the SWR of multiple bans at the same time. I really use that feature and love it so I need to know if the Stick Pro have it. I just looked online for the Manual of the Stick Pro and gosh, is a pretty crappy manual compared with the AA=* versions, so I cant find even an index to tell me if it has MultiSWR or not.

this should come with an SO-239 like the stick-230. Having to baby sit the adapter isnt cool and while N is better for UHF who needs to analyze 600Mhz?

I got one of those 650 Zooms that was on sale... I have to say, it's such a piece of junk; so cheaply made that it's hard to believe. They're the biggest scam in the industry that I've seen. I really wish you guys would point that out. It's almost like you're paid by rigexpert to peddle this crap.
@HamRadioCrashCourse Жыл бұрын
Not paid by Rog Expert and I have had no quality issues with their products. Did you contact them to get your sorted out?
@mlentsch Жыл бұрын
@@HamRadioCrashCourse I returned it for refund minus shipping and restocking. No way was that thing worth the $700+ SALE price. It should be build more like a Fluke multimeter for that price. I understand that smaller companies aren't able to manufacture to the kind of quality that you'd expect from a large company, but this is another level. I'd like to see one disassembled and checked out by EEVBlog, or someone like that. My gut tells me that it's filled with very inexpensive components, but I don't know that for sure. Maybe someone actually did do a tear-down somewhere - I'll check. Meanwhile, I'll stick with the NanoVNA, which, incidentally, means that the cheap Chinese hardware to assemble a RigExpert has been available for a while, now.... I'm not saying that the RigExpert is made in China, but I'd bet money that it is. This wouldn't be the first thing I've come across purporting to be made in "the ukraine" or russia that was actually made in China. Anyway, thanks for your videos.

And the Bible said, "they went up onto the breadth of the earth"; Revelation 20:9. The greek translated word used at that time was "platoo". The root word of platoo is platoos, which means; "spread out flat". Your radio waves are not bouncing off of atmosphere; there is simply no curvature. You lose a great deal of meaning to words when translating from Greek to English.
