Rigging A 4 Part Line to Move a Dead 1946 Farmall Meili Blumberg Grader

The International M Farmall tractor has an extremely heavy Meili-Blumberg road grader conversion added to it. The Grader is fully hydraulic and complete with a set of scarifiers. However, the motor is locked up from close to 20 years of sitting. No matter, dead or alive, we needed to move it forward and did so with the Ramsey RE8000 winch converted for use in a 2" Reece receiver. We moved it approximately six feet and the battery was wearing down in the truck rapidly when the Missus comes up with a stellar plan. The suggestion was to unload what was needed to be unloaded BEHIND where the Farmall is now. It turned out to be enough room if we move the dead JD 50 that was sitting there. THAT simple thought saved a couple hours of hard work simply because the 50 is so much lighter and easier to move with just another tractor.
So as abruptly as the video begins, the video comes to an end leaving us with the thoughts of the impending move of the John Deere tractor. Thanks and kudos to the Missus for once again thinking outside of the box to make my day easier !! #rigging, #international, #tractor

The Missus blushed a little with your comment....LOL. I think it easily goes 10,000 and quite possible over that with the scarifiers. But its really only a guesstimate.

I never like the process of explaining the what and whys? behind my purchase decisions. Quite often they are based on availability vs cost. If it was free it doesn't matter if I have 1 or 100. It didn't cost anything. If it takes up space in an out of the way place that is free also. I think some people only see items for their value to be used elsewhere. As in what can it be sold for to convert into some other item they want. I once made the mistake of assigning a price to an item. It was eventually sold for a lot more than I paid for it. I never spent a dime of the proceeds on anything connected with the workshop or tools. The 8N original price is lost in the mists of time and I have never found anyone willing to risk putting a price on it in the hearing of my family. 😎

A fella can't be too safe around cables under tension Dave !! The 3/8 cable was nowhere near breaking point with this load though. The REAL danger comes when subjected to an extreme 'shock load' with a big tractor or dozer. You create a whip !! She liked the concept of the carpet to deaden the cable just in case.

A M farmall weighs around 5000 pounds and all that extra steel must weigh 4000. I dont think you are gonna move iit unless you unlock the brakes. I like the missus remarks. I get much the same. What is wrong with the M Engine? I have some good used sleeves and pistons.

The main thing that's wrong is I don't need to start the rebuild on another one...I've got a couple in line already, so a swap would be the best for me at this time. Unless of course, I can't find one. I have a fella on tictok that says he's got a good 400 engine up in Michigan. I have to verify bolt-up before I buy it though.

That's a heavy beast to try to move with the brakes stuck. My uncle destroyed a set of rear tires on his old 1 ton ford pulling a W6 McCormick home from town that kept locking up on him. That old M grader will sure be a nice workhorse once you get it running again
@tractorman4461
@tractorman4461 7 ай бұрын
Yeah its a lot of weight, but the 4 part line was doing it though !! I should've left the truck running. But no matter, the 5 or 6 feet we moved it allowed us to change direction by moving the JD for a spot to unload behind the grader. I bet your uncle was aggravated with the tire destruction. But its just part of the deal that goes with old tractors isn't it. (-;

You do realize that she is having a big auction before the grass starts to grow around the headstone.😂😂. My wife is the same way, although she does love to go to the tractor shows. Now, if you lived on my road, she would insist that you get that grader in working order to get the the road graded. My county has graded the road twice in the last year. There were potholes 8 to 10 inches deep and as big as a pickup truck last summer.

An uncanny feat of engineering fer ser Thanks to The Missus! I was having fun watching that heavy machine being move inch by inch. I had a friends van here for a number of years that was supposed to be here a few months. And of course after a time it wouldn’t start and the battery was plum no good! Our friend didn’t have the title and her friend she bought it from moved to Taiwan. So my other friend got it to scrap but with no title he had to cut it apart. Well making a short story long, Bobby’s roll back was suffering from a weak battery, his winch that is! It was a heavy duty Ford van with the extended body and flat tires, no that wouldn’t hold air more than a minuet. So it took three hours just to get it on the trailer. When we finally got it tied down it was time for a CuppaJO fer ser! Which brings to mind they Drippin, Tippin and Sippin I’ll be doing your ways inna morning! And a special Tippin to The Baroness Missus 44 for her engineering skills saving time, energy more time for sippin! After all that buttoning I recon I say good night for now and wait for the JO Faeries to dance in me head and cast flavorful spells over the JOpot, which is overseen by Sir Richard the Coffee Hearted. Time to shut down my brain to drain all the useless stuff that prevents me from even more stupid stuff that’s plum fun, like rubber chickens for example. Hand buzzers is another but I don’t know where mine is! shuzamm! Gluing a quarter to the sidewalk is cool and watching people trying to pick it up but we ain’t got none sidewalks! Whoopie cushions are a must but mine broke from use years back, heart breaking indeed! I remember a buddy put a whoopie cushion under our 5th grade teachers chair, where she always had a cushion and space underneath for the whoopie. We all were not fond of this teacher and terrified of her at the same time. Chuckie had nerves of steel and other parts too. And when Miss and ancient teacher came in and sat down! Well that Bronx CHEER FILLED the classroom. Of course we were too scared to laugh and she never found out who was the whoopie wacko! She weren’t happy none! I must say upon hearing the huge rippppppppppp! When she sat her large buttox down it was truly a test of strength and courage to with hold the laughter! See? All this just because of a winch and four snatch blocks! But I’ll talk about my remote control fart machine that was a fine gift I must say, that I hid in the guest room so when guests settled in for the night and me with the remote downstairs? You can imagine the great fun of pressing the button of a well hidden machine! But that’s all I have to say about that except the time I hid it in a large heavy box my friend was carrying down a sidewalk in Lancaster. When anyone walked by of course DaveyJO would work the remote, Riiiiiupppppppppp! Okay okay, no more no more. This here is DaveyJO Anna I’m shutting down the rusty and spoiled gray matter! Many Squeezez Pkeezez!

We still can't figure out where it all comes from....LOL. Take care and enjoy the morning coffee as are we. Tippin' towards Pa. as well.
