It's nice that you have video footage of your Dad Richard. And having the old Grey Fergie he bought all those years ago is just brilliant. We have a MF 135 my father bought secondhand back in the early 80s. Of great sentimental value to us. Still in use to this day too👍

When you look at the saw design, there are most safety elements built into it, beyond that you used caution and common sense. A completely practical and safe item to use .

Lovely memories even so it brings a bit of a tear to your eyes, came across a picture of my dad after the first world war with a wreath to be laid at the first Cenotaph in Whitehall that was made of wood, and how young he looked and smartly turned out in a suit trilby hat with his medals on and I stared at this picture and a tear rain down my cheek and as you get older you seem to get more emotional.😢

Lovely to see the grey fergie working and see how your dad used to do the logs, my late Grandfather used to chop all the logs for the house my hand, Its amazing how times have changed and the kit out there now for cutting and splitting logs. I bought a small tractor powered oxdale log spitter about 6 years ago best thing i ever did think it was about £400, definitely don’t miss using an axe and the hassle that went with it. If you do get a log splitter i guess it’s something you could put on the 265 in the winter?

Unfortunately I lost my father in 2002 when I was 13 we have a few pictures but would have been amazing to have a video like that. Your father would be so happy seeing how much you do with your lads. My lad is only 3 but I know my old man is here in spirit. Crack on Richard and oh yes a hydraulic log splitter is worth their weight in gold if you have lots to split

Another great video Richard thanks for sharing. I was good to meet you and Harry yesterday at Malvern, I won't mention the straight pipe on the 265 again lol. And if you don't mind me saying it would nice the see the grey fergie start and some point. And it was nice to see your older footage of your Dad. You got him a new log splitting axe and he used the old one he has always used.

Great to see your Father again, fantastic archive of the farm. I used to spend winter Saturday afternoons with my Father cutting wood with a Mconnel sawbench and helping him load it onto the trailer. Dad always said you got three warms with wood, one when cutting it, then stacking it and finally burning it.

Hi Richard, nice video and you are the spit of your dad . Nice to see a much smaller Jack . There’s always something nice about preparing firewood hard work but somehow enjoyable.I think you should get the old Fergie going again and maybe take it to some shows it’s a nice original example especially with the correct period Fergie sawbench.👍

I remember when the new safety laws meant you had to have roll bars (unless only the owner ever drove the Tractor) Farm I worked on had 6 or 7 of the design type your Dad had on the Grey Fergie. Whoever designed and built those troll bars must have done quite well. Different days, Happier times I think.

Hi Richard, I have a weeping Ash outside my house it's in very poor condition and looking very dead. But I remember my father telling me it was a weeping ash about 30 years ago. I said it to friends and they laughed and said it must be weeping willow. Little do some people know. Very interesting video 😊

First tractor I ever drove, but it had bigger wheels, off a 165, I think, would do 30mph on the road. We used to have a two wheeled trailer, hooked on, with a 4 wheeler behind that, loaded with straw. At 15 I thought I was the DBs, didn't think for one minute how I would stop it if needed to.

Watch out for “bit rot” on hard drives that sit idle for years. Errors build up and corrupt the data over time.the video files must be written again from time to time. Depending on how new the drive is, once a decade MAY be enough, older drives need more frequent refreshes
