@GardeningUpbeat3 жыл бұрын
@Aditya Prakash, Glad you liked it and thank you so much for your inspiring words, really appreciate it. Rainy season - If it's more then would need to protect the plants from too much rainfall. I do the same thing with my plants and move them to other place so that they are protected. Or else, stems might rot. They are quite hardy plant and if the soil is extreemly well drained, nothing would happen even if there are rainfall for 15-30 days on constant basis (happens here in my place). Anyway, I would try my best to find out few more better solutions instead of moving plants here and there in rainy season. Thank you once again :-)

I had my milii for about 2 months now. it’s still blooming well- just somehow all the flowers r smaller than before.. I get full sunlight and water whenever it dries up (maybe 2-3x/ week depending on weather). Should I mulch the top? i fertilized once last month with a red flowering fertilizer- maybe not suitable?I also have a euphorbia geraldii.. Isit the same plant care? Parts of the geraldii flowers got destroyed during the last heavy rainfall and is still recovering...
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@dreydrey8731, Glad to know your have too :-) Flower size gets decreased or increases depending on the temperature and fertilizers availability in the soil. If you like, mulch the top and it would help the soil retain the moisture. Fertilizer like NPK 19:19:19 or DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) works well or we can use any organic balanced fertilizer. Applying once a month would be fine and as a care for the Euphorbia Geraldii, we can do same. Hope your plant recover soon and bloom heavily in coming days, good luck :-)

Beautiful euphorbia milli plants. My plants are growing well with plenty of leaves but no flowers. They are just in one single branch.What to do to encourage blooms and branching?
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Mithu's World, Thank you for the feedback, appreciate it. Since your plant has only one stem, it's lacking in Sunlight and Nutrients. You can fertilize your plant and also you can prune it. After pruning, it would produce more branches and as a result, you would also get more flowers. For flowering also, you would need to do those two things. Please also note that, it's a succulent and so need less frequent water. No worry, it would bloom as there is plenty of time, Good luck :-)

What should i do for my euphorbia mili to bloom?
@malinirao91644 жыл бұрын
My crown of thorns is blooming nicely. However there is a hitch - the leaves are getting curled up. I saw that there are cobwebs surrounding the plant. Even after showering the plant with water, the leaves are still curled up though there are no cobwebs surrounding the plant. What could be the reason for this curling up of leaves?
@GardeningUpbeat4 жыл бұрын
@Malini Rao, Good to know they are blooming well, Congrats! Leaves curling up and inward - that is a sign of high temperature and not enough water. But this shouldn't happen after showering and they are good at handling high temperature as well. Look like the soil is too compact and water is not reaching to the roots properly. You can turn out the soil a bit and then water thoroughly and hope it would look better :-)

@Mirna Karwashan, Unfortunately yes and it's root rot :-( Honestly saying, not much chance as stems are already brown..but still, you can keep few stems in water and hope at least one would survive. 4-6 inch long stems would be fine and water level - 1/3 of the stems and not more than that. Also, please don't keep the cuttings under direct sunlight before you see any new growth. Good luck :-)

@Vaishakhi Parikh, Euphorbia Milly is not busy - there could be 3 reasons - 1. The plant is an old plant and it's there in the same container from last many more months. The soil is lacking of nutrients and so plant is not branching out more. 2. Lack or direct sunlight 3. Depends on variety - some varieties doesn't branch out more whatever we do. They always look leggy and Mini Euphorbia Milly usually grows this way. To make it bushier, you can do these things - 1. Prune the plant and you can do very hard pruning. You can easily grow new plants from those cuttings and even if you keep the stems in water, they would root. This way, you would have many more Euphorbia Milly plants at your home and I hope you would like it :-) 2. Change the soil and add good amount of either compost, vermicompost or cow dung manure. Then apply fertilizer once a month during the growing time. 3. Provide plenty of direct sunlight and definitely your plant would grow bushier in coming days :-) Hope that helps :-) Five feet tall in a big pot, it would take quite a long time as they take time to grow :-) Would take min 3 years at least :-) Finally, A BIG THANK YOU for your wonderful words, really appreciate it a lot. Have a great time and Happy Gardening :-) If you have any questions, plz let me know, thank you again :-)

@Sabre Apps, 80 degrees is not high and Euphorbia can easily tolerate that. I am sure, you are referring to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Summer temp in my place is quite high. It goes up to 98 - 110°F in my place. So, I replied you thinking you are from the same climate (INDIA). 80°F is okay for Euphorbia milli and please provide it as much Sunlight as you can (even whole day of sunlight won't do any harm). And, please avoid shifting the plant too much here n there. Let it settle down and it would start blooming. Flowers would get shocked once after getting moved from low light to direct Sunlight, that's OKAY. Nothing to be worried about. Eventually, plant would adjust and it would start blooming. Good luck and I wish, we had summer temp like in your place..he he..
