My thoughts using this new Cineback from Rigid.Pro

Cinebak now has a top handle extension. Are you considering that? I like the idea of using smallrig parts. I didn't know rigidpro had to use a specific cage.
@PigWrangler4 ай бұрын
Not really I have this built....unless someone bought this rig off me I might consider but Cineback was not making it at the time so they were the ones catching up.
@haloboy4562 ай бұрын
something else to consider is the lack of a vanity plate. Maybe not the biggest deal for a lot of folks, but sometimes I want to keep out debris if you are shooting in the field. For that niche case as well as for those who care about aesthetics a second niche case but one that matters randomly at times even professionally, the vanity plate in the cine back version is really nice
@rizzo-films26 күн бұрын
@@haloboy456 what exactly do you mean by vanity plate? Just curious. I do think that the CineBack is in general a tighter design than the RigidPro, which is a little chunky looking in comparison. CineBack has that industrial, black steel look similar to a RED camera while RigidPro looks more like a 2010's prosumer cinema camera like the Panasonic AF100 or something.
@haloboy45626 күн бұрын
@@rizzo-films sure thing thanks for asking :-) yeah so the vanity plate that I was referring to is a piece of 3-D printed material that has holes along the vertical left side edge. I believe that can take included M5 hex or similarly small size screws that when fixed and installed allows for that cover to neatly and cleanly fit across, the right hand side of the rig, covering up any cables tucked behind the camera and fan, but ahead of the other internal crawlspace. On the recent version of Caleb product, they released an addition for canon. This addition has the vanity plate attached to the cine back on a hinge like a door which I think is an incredible improvement. I hope to be included on mark two versions of already released models or models to come.

I don't think I'll ever understand... once putting yourself through all of this and spending so much extra, making a small camera large; why not go for an fx6 then?

I think if they made a XLR handle version that would fit the small rig cages, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Looks like I’ll just have to wait for the next round of pre-orders for the Cineback

Hey Wayne, I get the concept here to increase functionality while keeping the xlr handle but do you feel the setup pushes you toward an fx6 style size/build and that you lose out on the compact benefits of the fx3? I feel like there's a bunch of empty space that really pushes the battery far back while not providing much of a benefit for form factor?
@3PigProd6 ай бұрын
I have an FX6 and this does make the rig longer. The FX3 is a compact package, you are kinda killing that. Like I said in my review though I was looking for a bigger build for longer day shoots. If im out running around getting family footage I would leave it in its original form. However, I find myself at events or longer form projects that require the camera to be ON all day plus power a monitor, Wireless Video transmitter, Timecode, etc....I needed something that would make the FX3 a go-between, as I didn't want to buy a 2nd FX6 outright. It definitely serves this purpose, like I said it's not for everyone but it fit my needs exactly...minus the 8Sinn cage issues...which I still detest.

@@LoudlabsNYCtheir online store page for the cage for the top handle still says that the 8Sinn cage is required. But the one without the top handle connection is compatible with smallrig.

Hey Wayne! Loved the review , I’m not super versed in how power works through using Vmount and The Dtap ports but is there anything to look out for when powering the camera to make sure you don’t accidentally fry your fx3?
@3PigProd6 ай бұрын
For the USB-C or the dummy Battery I would say stick with brands like Kondor Blue...I have heard of FX3's cooking from aftermarket dummy batteries on Amazon. I would say as long as its a good brand other use all the time, You're Safe.
@中国制造肌肉哥Ай бұрын
Bro can you still filp the screen with the hdmi cable on? Cheers
@3PigProdАй бұрын
Yes, the HDMI is not the issue its the USB-C cable that I have to pull out flip the screen and then reinsert it. I don't use a dummy battery as the FX3 is prone to corrupted clips if the camera dies while recording so I always op to have an battery in the camera and just charge it via USB-C while I'm operating.

Hey Wayne, thx for review. I just bought one, what kind of Nato Rail do you have mounted on camera? Will a 90mm nato rail work?
@3PigProd6 ай бұрын
Sorry, I did reply to you but KZbin must not have posted it. Not just any rail will work for the one under the handle. I have a smallrig nato to 15mm for that front rail and a smallrig FX3 top rail handle combo....you unfortunately cant use both parts that come wit the kit as the Cineback takes that back thread.
