He was arrested and later sentenced to probation and to pay damages because he assaulted someone. I don't know about you but I think that is a pretty reasonable consequence. Also, I don't feel like you need to help a person not to face legal actions after committing a crime. The prisons in Sweden aren't bad either. They are served Swedish husmanskost every day (the prisoners get better food than elderly get at the nursing homes) and are even allowed to play video games in their cells if they would want to. It's not like he was treated as bad as a political prisoner and tortured, then I would understand the involvement of Trump, but this was blown out of proportion. He even threatened Sweden with a trade war basically for having a functioning judicial system.
