Same here. I experienced colourism several years back which led me to think that it meant that I'm conventionally physically unattractive for the dark complexion I have. Since then, I took away from that experience, vehemently believing no one in the 8 billion of us or so, would EVER be romantically interested in me enough to pursue my insecure self. Even if they genuinely were and they actually proved it, I would still not believe them at all as I'd been conditioned to believe by my experience of colourism that I cannot be desired. Other than that, I just generally deeply fear they will judge me for all I am once I open up. Hence I keep rejecting people to stay guarded. It feels safer.

If her initial interest isn't high enough out the gate then I'm not wasting anymore time on a low interest woman. I'd rather spend that time with a high interest woman and grow from there.
