Rihanna Honored as National Hero of Barbados

A 21-gun salute, the country’s first president and a billionaire mogul were honored as Barbados sheds the last remaining vestiges of their colonial bonds to Britain. The island-nation, which is now a republic, held a grand ceremony removing Queen Elizabeth II as monarch and installing the first-ever president to preside over Barbados, Sandra Mason. Rihanna also received one of her native country’s highest honors. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer has the details.

I went to Barbados once, it was a beautiful place full of beautiful people. Unlike the majority of tourists, I did not just stay on the beach. We went to see the Barbados history museum, we saw statues, monuments, etc. It was an amazing place and I wish all the people of the island a good life.
