I have a 2020 Taycan 4S that I picked up with 22 miles on it in Nov 2020. Now I have over 89k miles 140k km. Cross country trips in the USA, it’s an amazing car. Glad you are loving yours Kris. ❤

I have a Cross Turismo Turbo and I agree with you as it is the best car that I have ever owned. I've always been a petrol head but to be honest, the way the Taycan drives blows me away. The benefits of the electric drive and power delivery far outweigh any downsides. 🙌

Could not agree more. I also have a CT4 in mamba green with about the same spec as yours. Love it! Only thing I miss is a big more punch, so looking to upgrade to a GTS/Turbo.

Like you, I had an XC90 inscription. I had the Volvo for 6 years, and now I have a '23 CT4. I also have the smooth extended leather, but in chalk beige. I preferred the buttery Volvo napa leather, but I agree the Porsche is terrific to drive and super comfortable. Well done buying the right car with the right spec for you and sticking with it. Yours (now) looks terrific in yellow.

I have wanted one of these since they came out- agree that no other EV that has come out since is more appealing. I’m just hesitating because the depreciation has been scary. Woukd buy a 3 year old one for around 70k but even so I think it would drop another 35k in 3 years.

14:30 i wonder if the option of noise insulating windows would help with that. Other reviewers praised how quiet it was, so maybe the press car had that.

Kris, I remember your first videos of your (white) Taycan. I was ordering mine CT 4S. Now I’m after 20 months of using it, drove 44kkm. I was considering ICE as my next car - unfortunately 2 weeks ago I had a chance to drive Cayenne and Macan (ICE) - an internal charger in my Taycan has failed. Cayenne? Big, comfortable - boat style, not best to drive. Macan was surprisingly nice to drive but still an ICE with indirect reactions. I was considering Macan EV as more practical car for family, in 4S trim it’s much cheaper than Taycan. Had no chance to touch Macan yet. But after getting into Q6 I’m disappointed: trunk is more practical, but back seats are more comfortable for adults in Taycan. So my conclusion is as yours: new Taycan, with Plus battery. Maybe I would consider Sport Turismo, RWD would give the best range and is more powerful than CT4 J1, but I would most probably choose 4S. I have driven CT in 4 trim, the difference is very noticeable. I wish to try Active Ride, expensive option but very promising as improving the comfort. I just finished 500km family trip to the mountain area, 2 adults + 3 teenagers (16-19). Unbelievable, Taycan could carry all of us with luggage, just used net behind the rear seat. Reaching almost offroad areas for parking. Great economy in the mountain (recuperation). Just average on highways - we drive to fast in my country ;) Great, great car.

I have a 2020 4S that I bought new and I couldn't agree with you more!!!! I've been considering replacing it with a 2025 Taycan or Macan EV but it never gives me any trouble and I'm not sure why I want to just spend money. It's the perfect car. Do you know if the new Taycan will charge any faster on a 400V charge?? I thought I read somewhere that it came with the 150kw charger onboard, but that would continue to limit it to 150kw.

In Germany, the financial support for EVs stopped at the end of last year. And since then, the EV market almost lost 40% in sales! Not good!

I appreciate that you used new data and information to make your decision, and that you chose to share with us your whole process. Seems logical and rational to me. Depreciation has hit all EVs in the current market. Higher interest rates and price wars fueled in large part by Tesla cutting their prices and profitability, and competitors following. Of course this has also affected the used EV market.

@@wonderboy75 yeah, that is very true! Not sure what these are selling for in the UK atm. But at least here in Norway I don't think they will hit that low in a very long time. They sold very many Taycans and Taycan CTs the frist two-three years here in Norway. Then they introduced VAT on EVs and then interest rate sky rocketed and they have only sold like 20-25 in total this year. This means there are less and less used ones for sale and as I said in the video used prices here are at actually higher now compared to a year ago.

@@wonderboy75 not just EV´s, depreciation will hit every expensive car. My sisters husband bought a 530e xdrive new in 2021 for 73k€, asked for an trade-in offer for a new 530e and the dealership would offer 37k€ of the old. So, three years and half of the value...

Awesome and honest review. Can fully understand your decision, seeing that 'basic' XC90 interior with such a crazy sticker price, there's just no way. You may want to hang on to the CT a little longer. I did see a lot of praise for the new Taycan, but with new prices sky rocketing, it may not be worth the 'upgrade'. By the way, what's the main difference between your CT and ST version?

Enjoyed your video as I do with most...but not all your videos. Now, don't freak out! 🙂 Your viewers enjoy reading your opinions and so you should respect theirs (not saying you don't but you were somewhat defensive in this video towards the end). I had the opportunity to drive a Taycan GTS for 1500km; I currently own a 991.2, Macan GTS and a Volvo XC40 Recharge. My biggest beef with the launch Taycan is the center console "cell phone air-fryer" which literally cooks your $1000 iPhone. It's a known issue for which you omit any mention. I ordered a Macan Turbo EV and should have it in September 2024. I ordered the Club Leather interior because like you, I LOVE the smell of high quality leather. I have many Porsche's and from my experience, Club Leather in a Macan is the same as Club Leather in a Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo S ! There is no special Taycan-only leather. I also disagree with your assessment that the Taycan sits in what you describe as a "higher Porsche hierarchy". The Macan is a SUV and the Taycan's are saloon sedans. But I do concede that the options available to personalize (at great cost) a Taycan far outweigh those available for a Macan. Thanks for video. You work is very professional and truly appreciated. Most wireless phone charges are crap, and the placement of the one in the Taycan makes it useless. So I do agree, but most are useless. So for me this isn't a big enough point to buy or avoid a car. The quality of the leather is the same, but I wasn't talking about the quality of the leather. I was talking about the fact that in the Taycan it covers the lower dash, the center console and the lower parts of the doors. In the Macan, even when getting the leather package it "only" covers the top of the dashboard and top of the doors, and not lower down in the cabin in like the Taycan. ". I also disagree with your assessment that the Taycan sits in what you describe as a "higher Porsche hierarchy"." You can disagree as much as you want, but it's not a matter of opinion. The Taycan model for model is 30-60K Euros more expensive than the "equivalent" Macan. So it is factually lower in the Porsche hierarchy. I hope you enjoy your Macan, I am sure it's gonna be awesome. I will drive the new 4S in about a month, so I maybe I'll dig it then. But until then, I'll stick with my Taycan just a little bit longer .)

I am buying a Taycan CT 2nd hand and the only thing I don't fancy much is the fact someone paid 10k euro to get it in mahagony brown... geez but then I remember that lovely Miami / Mint green you wrapped yours and I think I am about to pull the trigger. Been driving a Turbo S for couple of months and buying a 4S which I am not sure makes me any good in terms of "feel" of the performance but the Taycan is by far the best drivers car at the moment. I've even tried less expensive brands like the Hyundai and the Kia and they are big yuck inside. Mercedes are boring, ugly as hell and have tons of issues. Maybe the only good EVs would be the BMW IX but not liking the BMW driver image so yeah, not sure if there's a better replacement.

21:06, i would not say that 20.7 kWh/100km is really low. I drove from Oslo to Trondheim this summer also in a Tesla model y performance, and got 14.0. kWh/100km.

What was the wind situation like? What was the weather and temperature like? How many cars did you pass? What was you average speed? What route did you take? There are so many variables, that you anecdote unfortunately doesn't tell us much. When me, Bjørn and Pavel did a trip to the Polar circle a few years ago he got 14kWh/100km in a Model 3 SR+ while Pavel got 18kWh/100km in a Taycan 4S. It a safe to assume (based on mone and others tests) that the Model Y Performance is somewhere between those two cars. So lets say under similar conditions to your trip my Taycan CT would manage 16kWh/100km. At that rate both have about the same range since the Taycan has a 10kWh bigger battery. So I'd say that is very good and more than good enough, as per the context of what I said in the video.

@@KrisRifa Where do i start? I took the Rv3 route, the weather was pretty much shit 80% of the time and it was raining like crazy from Elverum to Alvdal. Being in the middle of the summer holidays i had to pass quite a lot of campers, i do not have a number but it was quite a lot of them. Avrege speed was the speedlimit +10% ish.

@@BabyKermit_ as I said, we already have the Model 3SR+ and Taycan 4S driven on the same route in several(similar to what I talked about) to compare those cars. This is all documented on mine and Bjørn’s channel. Model Y Performance will be smack in the middle of those two cars. Which means your trip and mine cannot be compared.
