driven them both with the intend to buy. I was sure the Q6 was the right choice (Ultra spec) but did a testdrive on Polestar 3, day after (Performance spec) and it blew me away. Polestar was superior all over, rideability, looks, build quality. Putting in my order next week

In Norway there is still 2024 Polestar 3 launch models available. Just reserved a dual motor with pilot and plus package, 21" summer and winter tires, HD lights and tow hinge for 860k. That about 150k lower than the asking prize on the new 2025 models. Polestar with air suspension compared with Q6 og steel suspension is two different worlds. Have not tried the Q6 on air, but that will also cost about 150k more than the Polestar with similar spec.

I have driven both and i would say Polestar 3 easy!!! Q6 didnt feel as comfy , refined , quite as the Polestar 3 did. The Polestar 3 infotainment was also much nicer. Polestar 3 turned more heads also 😏

Polestars are just not that efficient sadly. Got an i4 and i get 14-16 kwh/100 km easily. Even at highway speeds. Normal Q6 is at least somewhat efficient for its size.

This is the comparison I needed. We are basically down to these two. We have traditionally bought Audis but once I saw the Polestar 3 and the reviews this was instantly shortlisted. Given the price difference in Canada the SQ6 is quite close to the Q6 Technik (highest trim name in Canada) so that was our main option. I just wish the interior was similar in quality to the Q8 Etron/OG E-tron ie: cabin materials, or even smaller things like the rear climate screen vs no screen on the Q6/SQ6. Thank you Kris for this video, it helped alot. It's definitely a tough choice between these two. Once main thing is we are 8 minutes (good or bad traffic) from our nearest Audi dealer and minimum 30 minutes (on a good day) from either of the two Polestar service locations.

I'm still looking at the SQ6 for my next car. However, I'll be coming from a Q5 S-Line, so I'm looking for familiarity. I don't mind the hard touch plastics below the waistline as it is easier to clean.

The thing with polestar is, the trunk space they quoted on their website, is not the amount of liters when packing till the roof. That would be 597l. This is why it feels bigger than one might expect based of the numbers, since audi quotes the liters to the roof.

I’ve driven both. The Q6 was fully loaded. I much prefer the polestar 3 which is why I have ordered it. I was offered a massive discount on the Audi which is telling. Polestar 3 is so refined and so responsive. Space for all 5 passengers unlike the Q6. Should have my P3 in the next 2 weeks. 🤞

Polestar 3 for sure any day, just out of necessity here in the UK I'd never drive an Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Range Rover. Polestar for me just extrudes the quality etc, just beautiful.

As much as I would like to love the polestar 3 as a sucessor to my Audi e-tron 55 I was not impressed when doing a test drive. Having put an order in October 2022 still in July 2024 the software seemed unfinished. Examples: seats would not move,full pressing the accelerator pedal needs a long second till the car reacts, no control over the distance to the car ahead in the adas, no visualisation of both the adas plus directions in the driver display to name just a few. Did you test cars with a newer software version or did you also experience the unfinishedness of the product?

I'm going to guess you had one with defective software. That sounds like the experience Top Gear got on a Polestar 4, before receiving fixed model and an explanation for what was going on. So maybe give it another try, since Polestar's probably fixed all of that now.

Is the data wrong or is the long trip fast DC CCS2 charging performance of the Polestar 3 compromised compared to the Q6? The quatro Q6 chargest from 10% to 80% in 22ish minutes but the Polestar is slower (according to other reviews) at closer to 32 minutes.

I find the Q6 beautiful, I find the Polestar 3 magnificent in every way: it has more character and provides greater safety and durability over time. If I had to choose, I would invest a few euros more for the Polestar 3 with all-wheel drive, without a shadow of a doubt.

In the Bay Area where electric cars are very popular, there are hardly any Polestars on the road let alone only two dealerships for the entire area. I wouldn’t want a car that has limited dealership network when servicing is needed.

You just take it to Volvo. Everything. Had my polestar for 18 months and it will always be in symbiotics with Volvo. They share everything, engineering, parts, tech. Servicing. Unbelievable that so few people realise this but that’s no fault of yours

I live in Berkeley. 2.5 year P2 owner. I enjoy not seeing the same white Tesla everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, Tesla is fine but I want to exercise my options. Have a P3 on order. Amazing car. Get my P3 serviced at Volvo of Marin. No issues with my P2, build quality is great. P3 drove much nicer than the Q6. Yes, any car manufacturer car manufacturer can shut down a brand, Stelantis, for example doing Jeep and Buick wrong. But hey, that’s Capitalism. Enjoy while “Rome burns”why don’t you?

The Polestar has 517 horsepower. The Audi has 486. That was a typo on Kris's part. I'm not sure you know what an old Tesla looks like either. Polestar and Tesla look about as similar as Lamborghini and Mercedes. Also, "pinnacle of understated yet high-tech elegance?" I think you've got the two vehicles mixed up. The Audi looks dated by comparison, and is full of cheap plastic. What it looks like is completely and utterly generic.

One of the reasons I passed on the Model Y and went with the 2021 e-tron SUV (SUV and Sportback versions in US). I like the look of this Polestar 3 however, I'm really liking the look of the Polestar 4, plus the screen in this platform is also different than P3. However, that new Audi A6/Avant looks really nice.

Polestar is a 400V vehicle that can only manage 270-300 miles from a huge 111kWh battery pack. Not cricket. Audi does way better at 800V and goes way further with its smaller 100kWh pack.

As for "Chinese copycat," Volvo's had a decade long history of portrait oriented displays, and almost certainly were prototyping them at the same time Tesla was for their 2012 Model S. @@Astke Agree. While I have had a few Audis in the past I have Polestar 2 now. But when I test drove Q6 last week for me it really felt like Audi in a good way. Test car was with s-line suspension, which was surprisingly sporty to drive. Related to charging 800V is very good when you have high voltage charger ... which is not most common case yet. But that said I still consider it good feature and newer charger are probably more likely to be 800V+.
