Hey all, if your searching for LED upgrades for your Subaru, LED lights with either a '168' or '194' fitment will work for both the trunk light and the license plate lights. Note that the only difference between the 168 and 194 is the Wattage. Also Ignore the number written directly on the bulb itself, it doesn't relate to the fitment. The LED that I installed is a 194. Have a good one!

What year is your Crosstrek? I have a 2018 looking to do the same thing and want to make sure this particular led bulb will fit. Thanks!

You could totally tell the difference on camera it actually hurt my eyes the first time you lit it up lol....color is much nicer than that bland yellowish stock bulb color too. It gets pricey though but worth it. I bought one for my dome light in my BMW that was not working and I was deflated to find out its not the bulb so more work needed to fix.....light was $8.99 + tax at Autozone a little steep I thought but im sure better deals are on Amazon.

Oh no didn't mean to blind you haha! :) it is quite a deal brighter and I like the pure white over the stock bulb. Do to its location on the side, gear in the trunk has a tendency to block it. In the future I definitely want to explore hatch mounted LED bars.

Riky Song Su Unfortunately Amazon tell me that this light kit doesn’t fit my crosstrek 2019! Do you have any other alternative?
@RikySongSu4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I also have a 2019 crosstrek and the Amazon vehicle check says it won't fit on mine. It's does fit. Just make sure your getting the 194 or 168 sizing.
The new sport has a light there and in the hatch door. But the limited does not it just has a cover over the spot. May be able to add the sports part #

Put some foil behind it to reflect the light.

Does this light up the trunk well? Cause since crosstrek only come with one light source in the trunk i want to be at least as bright so i can see.
@RikySongSu4 жыл бұрын
Decently brighter than stock but stock wasn't that bright to begin with. If you looking for a lot of fill light for the trunk area, you'll probably want to wire an additional light up top.

@@RikySongSu Yea but i dont want to wire lights considering my 2021 crosstrek is brand new lol. But there are these SIRIUSLED brand on Amazon that looks like its a improvement over Sealight higher wattage at 3w.
@RikySongSu4 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the purchase! What color and model did you get? Might be worth checking out the higher wattage. I wouldn't expect anything too bright given the size of these bulbs and placement but pretty much anything LED with be much better than the stocks.

@@RikySongSu The 2021 limited Magnetite Grey. The only other model with the 2.5L engine and most important LED headlights. No clue why Subaru don't want to include LEDs in any models, except for limited. But they included LEDs on the outdoor (canadian)/sports model for the fogs and a additional rear gate LED housing. I must say the 2.5L engine does give it a good oomph on the hills vs my old 2016 crosstrek with the meager 2.0L which has 4 less HP than yours lol. Based on the specs for Sealight these they look like 3014 SMD leds which outputs less light per wattage which is rated at 2w per the entire bulb (130 per 1 w). So considering there is 8 (4 each side) its only about 260 lumens that actually gets into the trunk. Sirius leds per their specs are 3ws per bulb but three 3030 leds rated for super bright, top, and 2 sides and each wattage puts about 150 lumens. So i would assume consider the configuration its a bit brighter since based on what I read these are like the newer leds made for wider despersion of light.

@@RikySongSu The only other choice i can see is have COB led pads with a T10 connector but that just means exposing the internal wirings cause you have to remove the trunk light cover and use some good old 3m tape to stick Cob light pads somewhere. But it just looks ugly like you have some weird white patch out of place lol.
