Latvia as independent country was founded in 1918, a long before Soviet occupation in 1940. Riley knows nothing of real Latvia history, because Pasha is russian latvian and have his own interpretation of Latvia history... Before soviet occuppation or annexation (whatever u name it) Latvia already was modern and wealthy country with strong economy and modern industry, before soviets came and ruin it all.
