I’m so excited for your new dog! She looks adorable, and I’m so glad she’s getting a second chance with your family. Good luck with your massive TBR lol when you went to pick between the three books I had my fingers crossed for The Winter Duke because I want to know what you think - I want to read it but for some reason I’m procrastinating. Unrelated to this video, but I started reading the Veronica Speedwell series because you talk about it so often on your channel and so far it’s amazing! I love a grumpy hero paired with a sassy heroine

So happy for you on your new dog! I hope she brings you many years of love, you all did such a wonderful thing in adopting her, I SO believe in animal adoption, it's how I got my sweet kitty Beanie 9 years ago, we adopted her through the vet's office, and she is always with me, she has to be on my lap all the time!! I hope you enjoy all of your books, I'm going in another direction with my reading, I just want to enjoy my books and am just going to not pressure myself to read such and such a book in a certain time frame! ! I still love watching all of my favorite Booktubers videos, including yours!! 😊

I am currently reading Priory of the Orange Tree in Olivia’s Readathon and have just finished part I. Also reading Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, and I so agree-this book is frickin endless and I’m unpleasantly surprised whenever I check the page count. I DNF’d it once, but because so many bookTubers hype it, decided to give it another chance. I have made it to page 150 of 334 in the ebook and ugh! am sadly still struggling.

I read the priory last month, it is intimidating :D but it is a great read, the first 50 pages can be a bit confusing but once you orient yourself in the story, it´s great, there is amazing lgbt, the fantasy part is great, the royal kingdom queen stuff as well, I loved it, it is not perfect, but it is a great book :) ....this book is actually also great for what is going on in the world, it is pride month and also the black lives matter movement, the book has all the diversity in it, the main character is black, there are other poc characters as well, as I mention already adult lgbt romance is there as well, this is the right moment to read this book.

I haven’t read Priory of the Orange Tree yet for the exact same reason! It seems so long but I’ve read way longer 😂
@RileyMarie_4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it’s just the actual size of the book that makes it intimidating. I gotta get over it 😂
@melissalisea4 жыл бұрын
The priory of the orange tree is so big cause they used a normal paper weight usually big books will use thinner paper like kingdom of ash is almost 1 thousand pages but not as thick. It's a standalone fantasy so I think they wanted it to look impressive. It's also on my tbr and I'm excited to read it but also a little intimidated
@RileyMarie_4 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. I have some other books that are longer in page count but look smaller than priory so it must be the actual page thickness

Would yall believe in my 30 years of life I dont think I've ever heard the word "Safik"??? I'm sure that's incorrect spelling as well 😂 I obviously need to start learning words from my dictionary. Can anyone tell me what it means? Google just says it's an "intelligent person"😂 I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong. ALSO, I LOVED P.O.T. Orange Tree❤ it was a 5 star hands down. The beginning was a bit slow... but it set up so much character and world building. I do wish I would have made me my own cheat sheet of characters and plot... even tho theres one in the back of the book. It felt a little like research occasionally because there was so much to remember but 200% worth it!❤
