thanks for the answer I was looking for to my engine oil concerns - got my peugeot 2.0 bluehdi serviced last week, did only about 40 miles and thought to inspect the oil on the dipstick which to my surprise looked as black as before, so started digging through internet to find out if that can be right or I have been scammed, found some contradicting articles but I'm finally happy after seeing this video right there it's nothing unusual. thanks for posting this!

I do service between 3000 -----5000 miles every single time with engine oil flush and use always c2 low saps oil and tight up nicely injectors 8 bolts without torque wrench. I bought in 2014 with 123000 mileage after buying change oil pick up little pump located in sump and change turbo oil feed pipe and remove plastic filter from new banjo bolt n old one fitted with mesh gauza type filter ( when you use c2 oil and service under 5k miles then no need filter in banjo bold this little piece of s*** kill the turbo. I change fuel filter twice in 60k milage. I bought again peugeot 2008 1.6hdi with 8v 92 bhp. Let's see how this goes 🤞👍🙏 in shaa Allah hope for best. Thanks for that Jimmy. Looking at getting a 2012 1.6 hdi. Has a full service history. Have heard it said that the 1.6hdi doesn't do well if services are missed. Not sure if that's the case, but would be eager to keep it well maintained in any case. Am used to doing Audis, but that 1.6 hdi looks handy enough. Thanks for the full and thorough demonstration

Hi Jimmy, That tap in the middle of the diesel filter housing is there to hold the filter. Twist it to release fuel out from the filter. Its not a electrical connection. 😊

If only the engine oil filter is changed but not the engine oil, how much oil do I need to add after the change? I guess it's 150ml.
@ianclose1232 ай бұрын
@@frv6610 genuine question... Is it possible to change the oil filter without changing the oil? I only ask because my mechanical experience is limited to motorbikes, and with all the bikes I've had, if I had removed the oil filter, 90% of the oil would have come out too. I've just bought a C-max with this engine so if it is possible to change the filter without having half the oil spill out, that would be great.
@frv6610Ай бұрын
@ianclose123 I asked chatAI which said that in most cars engine oil is sitting closer to the ground in the oilpan than the oilfilter so if you remove the oilfilter only the oilfilter's own oil and some residual oil in the lines may spill out. In my car, C4 (B7) the oilfilter is upside down at 45degrees so the oil in it is probably already drained back into the engine when cold, but still maybe 300ml may drip out while unscrewing it so be ready with a pan and some towels. It also said the same is true for most motorcycles so it's surprising 90% of your oil drained out. From a car website, "If I Change My Oil Filter, Do I Have to Change the Oil? One common question among car owners is whether they can change their oil filters without changing the oil. The good news is that you can absolutely change your oil filter without emptying the oil from your engine. This is because the location of the oil in your engine remains untouched during a filter change. If any oil does come out during an oil filter replacement, it will only be what is trapped beyond your anti-drain back gasket inside the filter."

Great video! Picked up some good tips. That magnetic sump plug tool is a must! I also like Blue Print filters; just replaced the cabin filters in wife's C3 with Borg and Becks which are much firmer than other makes. On our C4 Picasso 2017, the cabin filters are in the driver's footwell behind the heater, you need to be double jointed! I always put a new copper washer on the sump plug - the time I didn't I got a leak. Thanks for posting this. P S have liked and subscribed

Is the 8V engine better than the 16V? No injector seal problems?
@cyberbob4111 Жыл бұрын
@davidk.713 the 8V version has no (0) power below 1.200 rpm, while the 16V stormed ahead, right from idle - VERY BAD!!! As mitigation a 6-speed gearbox is installed, which shifts somehow unprecisely and stiff. The 6th gear however adds cruising comfort. Many components (glow plugs, high pressure fuel pump, rail) allow for much better maintenance access. DPF regeneration takes only half as long as for the 16V, while less additive is injected, I wonder how that works. The fuel consumption of the 8V is significantly (approx. 15%) less. While I believe, that the engine (minus 1 camshaft, 8 valves, rockers and hydros) should weigh less as the 16V and the car feels as if they traded stiffness for weight reduction, the car (identically configured) actually gained 13Kg according to papers - very strange. No seal problems yet. The cause of that one were the engine vibrations loosening the injector screws. Once loose, the exhaust pressure lifts the injector and causes hot gas to penetrate the space above and below the seal, burning gaps and channels into its copper. This can be avoided by regularly checking and tightening the screws.

When adding the new oil filter should the oil filter first be drenched in oil to avoid air pockets forming which risks dry engine start up? Should I pour oil into the center hole of the filter until it’s about two-thirds full and let it soak in for a minute or two? Edit: I think I will just semi turn the start key to cold crank a few extra times the engine and then start it and skip prefilling the oilfilter.

Oil filter and air filter went well but once i took the fuel filter apart i noticed that the long bit that runs right through the middle had snapped or looks more like its been sawed off!? Had no idea what it was for so bought a whole new housing on amazon but now seeing your video explaining what its for i realised that there was also blue tac or something squished around the drain pipe of filter! Had the van 6 years always serviced at same place till this time and feel robbed. Dont get me started on cabin filter, looks a difficult job to do but wanted to try anyway and loan behold the filters have just been crushed inside and there is no way to retreive them

F*uck knows. The last garage we took it too did up the oil filter with an air gun as I could barely move it with a 1M bar! Im not having fun working on this. My 2007 Fiesta is just as bad for the pollen filter but the rest is easy even with a 2.0 in the tiny bay. My lovely old Escort (1972) is a piece of piss in comparison. Im sure the designers make them this awkward to charge more labour.
