The carriage was my favorite part of the episode. When Diablo restores them from whatever the hell Shion did to them. Still not clear on that.... Anyway the way they all realized resistance was futile and swore allegiance to Diablo, I already knew the moment was coming but still one hell of a scene to watch. "This demon is one of the primordials, the most powerful demons in the world, the truly terrifying thing. There is someone this demon serves... A demon lord possessing a hidden power that, while fleeting, surpasses imagination" I loved that line so much.

If/when the king abdicates, the nobles besides pinning the blame on him are going to offload the debt onto him as well--the king is responsible for everything. Whatever personal wealth the king has will likely be given up in an alliance with Youm's faction since he'll have nothing else to offer. If/when Youm becomes king, Tempest will likely forgive the crushing debt to help Youm solidify his position as king. Tempest gets an ally country, but no more coin.

Rimuru is quite an idealist similar to Naruto Uzumaki, Hashirama Senju, and Hagoromo Otsutsuki. However one common flaw that they all had was that they are all far too compassionate and underestimate the dark side of humanity. Rimuru needs someone like Diablo to help him if he wants to achieve his goals. Hashirama Senju had his brother Tobirama Senju the pragmatist to help keep him grounded in reality.
