This is important because it sets the stage for Rimuru’s upbringing because Chronoa started a time loop that has spanned thousands of years trying to save Rimuru from his fate (he is always fated to die in every other universe). Without Chronoa, Rimuru would have never become a demon lord let alone survive past the Eastern Empire arc.
