I have "fond" memories of one of my first warcaskets (a close combat brute sort), the result of a couple dozen hours of colony building, striding out of the base, knocking a couple of raiders into the outfield with her gravity hammer, then just getting atomised by some bastard with a slug launcher from offscreen. In hindsight, it did finally explain why all my mini turrets had died so quickly up til then...

Similar to Warcasked Weapons, the Heavy Weapons massively underperform. While the idea of limiting the Shots with HP damage is an interesting one, they are just way too expensive for the rather low impact they have. I rather go all out with Doomsday, or bring a Masterwork Assaultrifle that lasts the whole fight. Also, in vanilla the Carry Capacity determents how much they can carry in a caravan on the world map.

Yea the ve team has weird ways of making a weapon underpowered and quirky. Combat expanded makes them wayyy more feasible, also you can edit all the settings.

The warcasket weapons in CE are insanely good, especially the minigun, it can put down a centipede in one burst easily

@@evanboland1220 CE doesn't work with any other mod. Read: At least one mod in my list never works with CR, so I never checked

Note that you CAN turn off the degrade on fire part in mod settings, but Heavy weapons don't normally degrade like other equipment either, so if you do turn off all degrade, this'll leave them around the base forever. Maybe worth it as a Warcasket focused colony, but can easily become chaos without self-moderation.

The hand mortar? Oh, you mean the legendary weapon of one Bucko Drink! But yeah anyway, it goes to show how outdated some of these mods because even the flamethrower from Anomaly has the cone thing. Overall, it does make into my modlist like half the time.

The heavy flamers cooldown is what kills that weapon for me. Just way to long to make me ever want to use it outside of fucking around

I used it way back when, found it a lot more useful when a lot of the VE gear had workspeed bonuses on, so you'd keep hammers or wrenches on builders etc. These days I find it a bit too fiddly for what it's worth, it's also massive powercreep in the players favour as it allows you to plan for practically any eventuality. So things like drop pod raids struggle to catch out your long ranged shooters because they're carrying backup shotguns.

Is it carrying capacity or carry weight? Carrying capacity is the amount of weight a pawn can hold in their hands when holding i thought. Carry weight is caravan mass. So someone with a carry capacity of 50 can only hold 50kg of steel when hauling.

If you're using pick up and haul, they're essentially the same. As that will allow pawns to use their inventory how they would on a caravan when hauling normally around the base. If you're not using PUAH you'll notice that pawns are able to carry slightly larger stacks of steel, bricks or uranium around the base. Whilst being able to take even more onto the world map. Carry capacity plays into carry weight when doing caravan math.
