IMO, going for "balanced" stats is the worst possible option (well, save for going all out clarity, I guess). It's very effective to go full glass cannon - just enough speed to always attack first and then just damage, damage, damage.

Damn recently got on epic. About 10 hours in and no win yet. Always focused damage first to try and kill enemies fast. But speed and defense seem way more important. I thought they were gonna hit me anyway why focus speed. But it saves so much life. Kinda bummed you only did 5 rooms but will definitely help.

been interested in this one since before it came out but could never find the right time (or discount) to get it as it's a bit expensive in my currency (37 bucks, ouch). I'm hoping it will get a good discount if it goes on sale in the Halloween Sale on steam, I really want to play it.

Where do you get the items from the achievements?

Once you have completed an achievement the item will be put into your potential loot pool with the exception of a few items that need to be obtained in certain ways ie: bone pearls
