Since AMG is (rather embarrassingly) silent on the issue, I can confirm the coffee machine is a Fiamma Adexa Mia5. It has an 11 litre capacity and the option to serve 100ml, 330ml, or 500ml low concentrate servings. I don't know, I just made that up.

This is a fantastic achievement from Mercedes AMG, extremely well done and super transparent. Also, big up for Maro Engel for tackling the Nürburgring with those conditions, as they were definitely an understatement, there were many wet patches that were clearly seen in the video. This feels like the correct way to do such an important thing as a Nordschleife lap record.

In short: only drive cars you can afford to crash. Some insurances cover the Nordschleife for your own car, others don't. Contact your insurance before driving. In case of rental cars you should be able to pay the insurance excess that is rather high in many cases. Be prepared for the worst case and do everything in your power to avoid it and have fun.

Doesn’t count any way manhtey isn’t a production company it’s aftermarket. The amg gtr, black series , gt3 ,perfomante and svj were all off the show room with their record . The mt gt2rs is modded by a outside company not showroom stock doesn’t count or let everyone send their car out for suspension and aero twitch’s and come and take the record .

Very thorough coverage here. Reference the GT3 race cars, I believe they are also limited to 550hp which also goes towards this being faster in a straight line. But great press release from Mercedes.

Wow! I didn`t expect that but when I saw the sportauto Test with the McLaren 765LT and the 620R in Hockenheim it made me think. I never expected the GT Black Series to be quicker there, but it was. Even when it would be a few seconds slower it would have been an impressive lap for a car with that kind of layout (front-engine, RWD). Well explained and I must admit the Press Release is very detailed - like it should be.

Great video. Very straight to the points and some great observations right there! However, I was watching the record video and few things caught me thinking. In the year 8K videos, GoPro 9, iPhone 12 and stuff like that, how did such a big corporation failed to capture perfect audio? It seems the audio was recorded with an ancient phone or low-end action camera. The whole quality looks a bit outdated, if you ask me. And if I was in charge of the whole video thing for Mercedes-Benz, I would have considered to put the speedometer as well as tachometer to the screen. I see only one great explanation: maybe it's a simple weight saving - every saved gram helps ... :) But other than that - lovely footage and great achievement. And once again, good talk there, Misha!

*The thing that helped it the most was the 285 wide front tyres. Most supercars only have 245 front tyres and some have 265 front tyres. 285 helped a lot with understeer which lets it go around corners quicker. All supercars should have at least 285 front tyres.*
