Mr Rees Mogg. Going to the country to get a proper mandate ignores the fact that you already have a proper mandate from the people. Jacob, you say the award of a peerage should be based on the office rather than the person. However, if the incumbent brings that office into disrepute, as many believe Bercow has to the office of Speaker, then the 'person' becomes *very* relevant to the matter. There is no way Bercow should receive a peerage.

I so agree! Not only does that poisoned dwarf not deserve it, if he sits in the Lords, that's £300 a day taxpayers have to pay him, half of whom are the Brexiteers he shafted! I'm so disappointed in Jacob but that does go to show how they think, that this system is geared up to syphon as much of our money to them (all parties) as they can. No cuts for them or the bankers or the Big Corp tax dodgers all these years of austerity, they're still quaffing champagne and eating and drinking the best of the best in Westminster cheaply as the taxpayers subsidise that too, when millions of people have to go to foodbanks just to stay alive! We need rid of crony-appointed Lords and that laughable "Supreme Court", brainchild of Tony Blair and Alastair Campbell (FGS!) who appointed their crony judges so no bias there eh! Plus this SC costs us £14m when, had they stayed in the Lords, it would've been £3m! But none of them have to worry about where the money's coming from because, as usual, the sheep pay it all! So sick of the lot of them, all in it together to keep themselves in clover. It's time for MASSIVE change: out of the EU, world trade, smaller Govt, a People's Representive in Parliament to stop the MPs corruption, and most of all, we need the Brexit Party in charge, they're smart, accomplished, successful businessmen and women, relatable as they have REAL LIFE experience and, I believe, would be more TRUSTWORTHY!

Boris knew he had the figures in parliament to get through his so-called new fantastic deal if he threatened MPs with a no deal. So he knew that the risk of a clean break was not there anyway as long he threatened the MPs, but then the extension came and his dream of becoming a Brexit hero became somewhat more distant . Now with a new incoming parlament the chance of a no deal will be there so then he takes no deal of the table on the conservative program. He tries to play the people as a master of a violin.

To offer him a peerage is unspeakable, it is an utter denial and disregard of proper standards of behaviour. Bercow made Brexit about him, his shady and traitorous dealings with the EU against Boris and his grandstanding personality were all calculated to frustrate Boris's efforts and grab the limelight. Blue Angel - look you're being told it's a Deal or a treaty which is the same thing but theres nothing in it, just positioning for what will need to be discussed, it simply crosses a line from being a member state into transition or you can drive through a window costing more than money. These are two opposite positions for Leave voters and the caller is right. No Deal and PR? the Brexit Party want what everyone has no intention of going near with a barge pole. why is that? you might be suprised how well transition goes and how constructively it achieves Brexit because it doesn't cut our nose off to spite our face and everyone gets a say rather than a red face for years. This GE is a second referendum and Brexit will be screwed if the Brexit Party are against the only way out, even if they are right and true to a real immediate Brexit there is no support for it and what support there is gives Corbyn what he wants on a plate.

I read the Commons shortened version. It is akin to a bag of sweets to keep you stop crying and forget what you were crying for in the first place. Carrying on from May's deal, transition period is up to the end of December 2020, with the possibility of 2 years extension which must be decided in July 2020. During the transition, free movement of people and other EU laws apply. That, among other similar tone on other matters, is the bag of candy. Question we ask ourselves now is, is Boris and his team the kind of people to be trusted to negotiate on behalf of the 17.4 million who voted out? Or are they just going to be the politicians that they are, stretching the 2 years extension into many more while taking the pulse of the Brexiteers, hoping they die one by one? In my opinion, it is high time to throw in the Brexit Party into the mix in Parliament. They may well be a minority, but at least they will be there to keep the Brexit candle burning. One thing more, during the years of transition or implementation period, we pay the usual bill but no say on policy/decision making in the EU. And at the end of the transition period? UK is required to pay the Financial Settlement as agreed by May's government and the EU in 2017.
