For a Chinese it's an honor when someone copies their product, in my eyes and the rest of the world, he's just a son of a...... The problem starts when someone doesn't want to pay the (fair) price one ask´s for his product. Then you end up with a cheap (copie) product. And then there is the problem that the Chinese government is not interested in this (big) problem. It's actually quite simple, don't buy anything from them, it's not easy, but where there's a will, there's a way.... ; ) ( love your work )

Keep your head up and keep pumping out the best quality work out there. You know China can't hang with what you do. Thank you for supporting the US and making such great products.

Unfortunately that’s all China has ever done is “hang” with what people do. They will never fail. It’s up to the said Governments to kill off counterfeiting and that will sadly never happen.

Hey Gents, Yes this is a big problem as you noted for some many manufacturers big and small. Knowing the pride you guys take in each and every build and every part you put your name on I am very sorry to learn about the knock offs. Innovation and quality will always prevail!

They do beautiful, high quality work. It's bad enough people steal your products, reproduce and sell them while you lose credibility because of greedy criminals. Keep up the great work, and go to the FBI with your concerns

I bought a pair of Ringbrothers 3rd gen Camaro hinges recently, they're amazing. Not a lot of companies building custom billet aluminum parts for 3rd gen Camaros yet. The customer support was top notch as well when the hinges were shipped missing some of the smaller components. I've spent over 9 years now building my car piece by piece with as many American made parts as I can, and it'll take me several more years to finish it, but I'd rather do it the slow and expensive way than have it done in half the time but with D grade knockoff pot metal parts just to save money. Buy once, cry once.

Happy crying for a finished build?
@PathOfAltansar4 жыл бұрын
@@robertnicholls9917 It's an expression about buying the better quality, more expensive option and being sure you made the right choice once the sticker shock wears off, vs buying the cheapest option and having to replace it way sooner. I'm still a ways off from finishing my build since I need to get a house with a garage to do bodywork in first. If there is one item I wish the Ringbrothers made for 3rd gen Camaros, it would be door hinges. They suffer from the same super long and heavy doors that the 2nd gens do.

They are speaking the truth. I've called there business several times and a lady has answered the phone. If by chance she didn't, I left a message and she did call me back. Like they say in this video, it's rare to find companies who still do this. I've personally talked with one of the Ring Brothers on the phone about their products.

Guys take it as a compliment that people are doing this to you, if your product was no good then they would not be doing this. You wanna buy cheap then you get cheap people need to remember this !!

Part of the current trade negotiations with the Chinese concerns copyright laws. Hopefully they will understand that counterfeiting works both ways.

People should stop buying stuff off eBay trying to save a few dollars, and actually check the Ring brothers online stores or their authorized resellers. Keep their business alive and the good product coming.

Those hinges are a thing of engineering Beauty. If anyone can't see that you put your heart and soul into that you're never going to save them anyway. Some people will do anything to save a buck and go anywhere to do that. Quality means nothing to them, they don't have the reputation you people do. The only way they can compete is to cheat. Thanks for a informative video and take care.

You guys are awesome. Sorry the Chinese are trying to copy your stuff. Someone noticed this week after the Chinese landed their little toy rover on the moon, that their space agency's logo is almost an exact duplicate of some Star Wars logo or something along those lines. There is literally nothing they won't copy. They have no shame. Love seeing your builds at SEMA. I've never bought any of your products, but only because I don't have anything to install them on yet. I'd love to build a vintage Mustang in the future and I'll definitely give you guys a call when I get that project going. :)

This is the biggest issue we deal with in the composites manufacturing industry. China can take our parts and reverse engineer them so rapidly and have a completely inferior version of it to market in less than 45-60 days. It noticeably messes with your bottom line and your brand presence

It is a necessity for me to always buy USA made products. I don't hate China or Chinese people but they're craftsmanship is non-existent when it comes to mass produced products. People should be more wary of knock-offs and where such products are being produced and sold.

First off, my grandfather was part of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment and jumped into enemy territory during WWII; my father never saw combat but he was also part of the 82nd Airborne and the "AA" on his shoulders stands for ALL AMERICAN. Point is, I'm as patriotic as the next guy, but that is just pathetic. You guys aren't taking a stand against anything... you're complaining about being uncompetitive! I may not like China's government (just as half of all Americans don't like our own government at any given time), but the Chinese are wonderful people, I've been there, I've met them, spoken with them, interacted with them. For the life of me I don't understand it, but they sure LOVE Buicks. However, I did not see a single pre 2000 model of anything there since it was only in the last twenty years or so that they started buying cars, and they aren't into the old stuff anyways. So if they're making parts for classic cars, they aren't doing it for themselves... it's because there's an AMERICAN demand for it. It is the epitome of capitalism, trade secrets are stolen, corporate espionage runs rampant, profits maximized, trade marks and patents are infringed upon all the time in America. They're just playing OUR game and you guys are being sore losers. If you truly believe in your ability and the quality of your products, then you have nothing to worry about, nothing to complain about. If the low cost of overseas products truly reflect their low quality, then let the market decide what they want. Crap companies selling crap products don't survive anyways. But people must have a choice to buy what they want. That is a capitalist system in a democratic society. It's survival of the best, the most efficient, the most profitable. Do what American companies do best: work efficiently, effectively, innovate, invent, strategize, perfect. If you just whine about your costs, want someone to even the playing field, kneecap a competitor because they cheat, demand a system that's equal for all, force competitors to play in a fair, instead of letting the market decide... well to be honest, that's more socialist than the Chinese. Anyways, good luck!!
